You can give an ad slot in an Automated Game Plan playlist to the home or away club. The club then fills it with their own sponsor advert through the Club Portal, and it plays automatically in their matches. You don't need to collect and upload every club's sponsors yourself.
Before you start
You need an Automated Game Plan with the playlist where the ad should appear. See Create an Automated Game Plan.
The clubs need access to the Club Portal so they can upload their adverts.
Overview
There are two kinds of slot you can give to a club:
Detached slot: an Advertisement item you place anywhere on screen, at any size.
In-graphic slot: the ad area built into a graphic, such as the match ID, scorebug, team lists or match stats.
For more on the difference, see Understanding in-graphic ads vs detached ads.
How to Delegate an Ad Slot to a Club
Detached ad slot
Go to the Automation tab and open the relevant Automated Game Plan.
Open the playlist where you want the ad to appear, for example a half-time or pre-game playlist.
Click Add Item to Sequence at the bottom of the playlist timeline, then select Advertisement.
Choose Club Slot as the advert type.
Fill in the slot details:
Ad Slot Name: a clear name so you and the club can recognise it, for example Half Time Sponsor.
Ad Sizes: the size the slot accepts, from Small to Extra Large.
Ad slot for: the Home or Away club.
Start Time (Offset): when the ad starts within the playlist, in mm:ss.
Duration: how long the ad shows. Leave it empty to keep the ad on screen for the whole playlist.
Ad Position: drag the ad into place on the 1920x1080 canvas.
Click Add Ad Slot to save it to the playlist timeline.
For full detail on the Advertisement item, see Add an advertisement to a playlist.
In-graphic ad slot
In the playlist, add or edit a graphic that has an ad area, such as the match ID or team lists.
Find the Assets section. If there's no Assets section, that graphic has no ad area.
Instead of choosing a specific advert from your organisation, choose Add Slot for the home or away club.
Each ad area has a fixed size, which is shown in the app. See Adding in-graphic ads to playlist graphics.
What Happens When You Delegate
Once a slot is given to the home or away club, the club sees it on the Ad Slots page in the Club Portal. The page shows the playlist it belongs to, when it shows and its size. The club uploads their advert to fill the slot.
From then on, their advert plays automatically in their matches whenever that playlist runs. For example, in Harbour City (HCF) v Ridgeview (RVR), a home club slot shows the Harbour City advert. You don't need to do anything when the club changes their sponsor content.
If the club hasn't uploaded an advert, the slot will be empty during the broadcast. See Why a delegated ad slot is empty during broadcast.
Tips and common mistakes
Let clubs know a slot is waiting for them, so they upload an advert before match day.
Give every item in the playlist its own start second. Two transitions on one second can wipe each other.
Ads only show when the overlay's Ad Type is set to Brands and Enable Ads is on. See Why ads are not appearing on broadcast output.
Use Preview a playlist to check the slot's timing and position.
