Overview
When you give an ad slot to a club in your Automated Game Plan, the club fills it by uploading an advert in the Club Portal. If the slot is empty on air, the club usually hasn't uploaded their advert yet. Sometimes the cause is in your game plan or overlay setup instead. This article helps you check both.
Why Delegated Slots Are Empty
A delegated slot is a club ad slot that you give to the home or away club inside a playlist. It has a name, size, timing and position. The club sees it on the Ad Slots page in the Club Portal, along with the playlist it belongs to, when it shows and its size. The slot stays empty until the club uploads an advert to fill it.
The most common reasons a delegated slot is empty are:
The club hasn't uploaded an advert for that slot yet.
The slot is given to the home club, but the club that uploaded the advert is the away club in this match (or the other way round).
The playlist that holds the slot didn't run. For example, its trigger didn't fire, or a higher priority playlist took over.
Ads are switched off on the overlay. Ads only show when Ad Type is set to Brands and Enable Ads is on.
The game plan isn't running because Manual is still on in the Control Room.
How to Resolve Empty Delegated Slots
If the club hasn't filled the slot, contact them and ask them to work through these steps:
Log in to the Club Portal.
Open the Ad Slots page.
Find the slot. Check the playlist it belongs to, when it shows and its size.
Upload an advert to fill the slot, made to suit the size shown.
Once the advert is uploaded, it shows in the slot whenever that playlist plays in their matches. For example, if Harbour City (HCF) has a slot in the half-time playlist, their advert appears at half time in HCF v Ridgeview (RVR).

Verifying the Delegation Configuration
Before contacting the club, check that the slot is set up correctly in your game plan.
In the Automation tab, open the game plan and the playlist that holds the slot.
Find the slot. A detached slot is an Advertisement item set to Club Slot. An in-graphic slot sits in the Assets section of a graphic with an ad area, set with Add Slot.
Confirm the slot is given to the home or away club, not to a specific advert, and that it's the right club for the match.
Check the slot's timing and position so it's actually on screen while the playlist runs.

Check the overlay and Control Room
Open the overlay window (UPDATE OVERLAY) and check the Ads section: Ad Type should be Brands and Enable Ads should be on.
Make sure the overlay uses the theme profile that runs this game plan.

Check the playlist runs
Use Preview a playlist to see the slot's timing and position. To see whether the playlist fired in a real match, load it in Review a match against your game plan. If the slot is set up correctly but the playlist never ran, check its triggers and priority.
