Overview
LIGR Live offers two types of advertising placements for organisations using Rive themes: in-graphic ads and detached ads. Both are configured through Automated Game Plan playlists, but they differ in how and where they appear during your broadcast.
In-graphic ads are embedded within your broadcast graphics — such as sponsor banners integrated into scoreboards or lower thirds. These ads are constrained to the ad areas defined within the graphic itself.
Detached ads are standalone advertisement overlays that sit independently on top of your broadcast. They can be positioned anywhere on screen at any size you define and are not tied to a specific graphic.
In-graphic ads
In-graphic ads (also called baked-in ads) appear as part of your broadcast graphics. Common placements include sponsor logos on scoreboards or ad banners within lower-thirds.
These ads are constrained to specific ad areas defined when the graphic was designed in FUSE. The ad slot defines the size and position within the graphic where the ad will appear.
Common ad slot sizes include:
* 1000×200 pixels for full-width banner ads
* 500×250 pixels for half-width or sidebar placements
* 1000×100 pixels for thin banner strips
When you configure in-graphic ads in your game plan, you select a graphic that contains ad placement areas. You then assign specific ads from your organisation's ad library to those slots, or delegate the slots to home or away clubs so they can manage their own sponsor content.
In-graphic ads appear as part of the graphic itself — they are baked into the broadcast output.
Detached ads
Detached ads are standalone advertisement overlays that appear independently of your broadcast graphics. They can be positioned anywhere on the 1920×1080 canvas at any size you define.
Unlike in-graphic ads which are constrained to specific slot sizes, detached ads can be any dimension. You specify the X/Y coordinates and width/height when configuring the placement.
Detached ads are ideal for L-bar advertising or corner sponsor logos that need to appear in screen areas not covered by your standard graphics.
When you configure detached ads in your game plan, you define the screen position and size, then assign a specific ad creative from your organisation's library or delegate the slot to the home or away club.
Detached ads overlay on top of all other graphics. You can use custom positioning to place them in screen areas that don't interfere with gameplay visibility.
Configuring ads in game plans
Both in-graphic and detached ads are configured through Automated Game Plan playlists. You define exactly when and where ads appear by adding ad slots to playlists.
Each playlist fires at a specific moment during the broadcast — such as pregame, halftime, or in-game intervals. Any ad slots within that playlist display at the configured time.
To add an ad slot to a playlist:
1. Navigate to the Automations tab and open the relevant Automated Game Plan
2. Open the playlist where you want the ad to appear
3. Click Add Item to Sequence at the bottom of the playlist timeline
4. Select Add Advertisement from the menu
5. Configure the ad slot settings including name, sizes, team assignment, timing, duration, and position
6. Assign an ad set to the slot or delegate it to the home or away club
Key differences
* In-graphic ads are embedded within broadcast graphics and constrained to pre-defined ad areas. Detached ads are standalone overlays that can be any size and positioned anywhere on screen.
* In-graphic ads appear as part of the graphic design. Detached ads overlay on top of all broadcast content.
* In-graphic ad sizes are determined by the ad slots defined in the graphic (common sizes: 1000×200, 500×250, 1000×100). Detached ads can be any custom dimension.
* Both types are configured through Automated Game Plan playlists and can be assigned from your organisation's ad library or delegated to clubs.
* Both types can be triggered by time, events, or assigned to specific playlist items.
Delegation to clubs
Both in-graphic and detached ad slots can be delegated to clubs. When a slot is delegated, you select Home Club or Away Club instead of a specific ad set when assigning to the slot in your playlist.
The club uploads their ad set through the Club Portal and it displays automatically for their matches without any action required from you.
The club must have an ad set uploaded and assigned in their Club Portal for the slot to display. If they haven't uploaded one, the slot will be empty during the broadcast.
