Some graphics have an ad area designed into them. The ad appears as part of the graphic whenever it's on screen. You set these in-graphic (baked-in) ads on the graphic inside a game plan playlist.
Which graphics have ad areas
It depends on your theme. In a typical football theme:
Graphic | Ad area size |
Match ID | 1000 × 200 |
Scorebug | 500 × 250 |
Team lists | 500 × 250 |
Match stats | 1000 × 100 |
Each ad area has a fixed size. The app shows the size when you edit the graphic, so check it there for your theme. Use ads made at the matching size so they fit properly.
Before you start
You need an Automated Game Plan with a playlist that includes the graphic. To add one, see Add an overlay graphic to a playlist.
To use your own ad, upload it to your organisation's adverts first.
Add an in-graphic ad
In the Automation tab, open your game plan and open the playlist. This could be on Pre/Post Match & Breaks or In Game (Live).
Click the graphic on the timeline, or add the graphic now.
In the right-hand panel, find the Assets section. If there's no Assets section, that graphic doesn't have an ad area.
To use your own ad, search for it, select it and click Apply. Click Clear to remove it.
To give the ad space to a club, click Add Slot and choose Home or Away.
Save the playlist.
The ad shows for as long as the graphic is on screen. For example, if the Match ID is on Loop for the whole pre-game, its ad stays up for the whole pre-game too.
What the club sees
When you add a slot for the home or away club, it appears on the Ad Slots page of their Club Portal. The page shows the playlist, when the slot shows and the size it needs. The club uploads their ad there to fill the slot.
For example, in Harbour City (HCF) v Ridgeview (RVR), a home slot on the scorebug is filled by Harbour City and an away slot by Ridgeview. For more, see How to delegate ad slots to clubs through the Club Portal.
Tips and common mistakes
Ads only show on an overlay with Ad Type set to Brands and Enable Ads switched on. Check these in the overlay's Ads section. If ads still don't show, see Why ads are not appearing on broadcast output.
A club slot stays empty until the club uploads an ad. See Why a delegated ad slot is empty during broadcast.
To place an ad anywhere on screen at any size, use a detached ad instead. See Understanding in-graphic ads vs detached ads.
Sponsors can also run inside the scorebug through Ad Allocation in the Ads tab. See Ad Allocation or playlist ads: which to use.
Use Preview a playlist to check how the ad looks in the graphic.
Good to know: In-graphic ads are set in the game plan, not in the Control Room.
