Automation for streaming in LIGR is a feature that allows users to set up specific conditions for their stream to start and stop automatically, for example a particular time before and after the match. This can help to reduce the risk of incurring additional charges if streams are left running. Automation can be setup for a competition or on a match by match basis. Both those processes are outlined below.

How to set up automated streaming for a specific competition in LIGR:

  • From the dashboard select Streaming.

  • Then click Settings.

  • Select the competition that you wish to setup automation for from the drop down. In the below image LIGR - Rugby League Demo is selected.

  • Toggle Automation to be on.

Under the Pre-Match section there are 2 options that require the addition of information:

Start the match input X mins before the match

When a match is scheduled to begin at a specific time, LIGR will start the local preview at a users desired amount of minutes prior to the start time. (In the above example the local preview will start 15 minutes before the match is due to start) During this time, you can ensure that your graphics and footage are being received correctly. It's important to note that once the local preview has started, charges for using the streaming and highlights features within LIGR will begin to be incurred. NOTE: This time has to be a minimum of 15 minutes.

Push to destinations X mins before the match start

You can use this section in LIGR to automatically push your streams live to the desired destinations at a specific time. For instance, if you set the time for 10 minutes before the match is due to start, LIGR will automatically start pushing the stream live to the destination(s) you have configured.

Under the Post-Match section there is one option that requires the addition of information:

Post-Match

When you set a time in this section, all streams will automatically stop once the specified time has elapsed, and the game has been completed using either the LiveScore app or external data. This feature helps you avoid unnecessary charges for streaming and highlights features after the match is finished and ensures that the streams are stopped promptly once the game is over.

Congratulations, you have successfully setup automated streaming for all the matches that will be scored in a particular competition.

How to set up automated streaming for a specific match in LIGR:

If automated streaming has not been set up for your competition, you can still set it up for individual matches by following the steps below:

  • Select Matches in the left hand navigation bar.

  • Select Create match.

Fill in the relevant information for the match.

Pay close attention to the section Stream & credit. There are 3 different Stream types:

Graphics - The traditional workflow where the Production URL is added into a vision mixing software (vMix or OBS for example) as an input layered over camera footage and streamed out to the desired destination.

GFX + stream - LIGR graphics are layered over the incoming match feed Input and pushed to one of the following Destinations from within LIGR:

  • Custom RTMP server

  • Facebook

  • LinkedIn

  • TikTok

  • Twitch

  • Twitter

  • YouTube.

Stream - LIGR is used as a meeting point for the footage to be received as an Input for highlights to be created or pushed to one of the Destinations listed above. No graphics are displayed on this option.

  • For us we need to select GFX & stream.

  • Once all the other relevant information is complete, select Next.

  • You will be greeted with a window that looks like below where the user creates their Stream settings and also turns on Automation for this match.

  • Fill out the relevant information Resolution, Stream Input, Frames Per Second, Stream Destinations, Region and toggle Automation to on.

Once you are satisfied with your settings, click on the Create match button to successfully add automated streaming to the individual match.

Congratulations, you have successfully setup automated streaming for an individual match.
