Open the Moments Editor

Open the Moments Editor from a match recording or a highlight to see the whole match on one timeline, with its saved moments listed alongside.

The Moments Editor lets you find any point in a match and save it as a clip. You can open it from a match recording or from a highlight. Either way, the whole match loads on one timeline so you can move through it and pick the exact moment you want.

Before you start

  • Your organisation needs the Highlights & Clipping module. Highlights need Cloud Streaming, because recordings and highlights come from matches streamed through LIGR Live.

  • The match needs a recording or at least one highlight in the Multimedia tab. If the match hasn't been streamed yet, there is nothing for the editor to open.

  • Your user role needs access to the Multimedia tab. If you can't see it, ask your organisation's Owner or Admin.

Open the Moments Editor from a match recording

Starting from the recording is the best choice when you want to look across the full game and build clips from scratch.

  1. Go to the Multimedia tab.

  2. Open your match recordings and find the match you want. For example, Harbour City (HCF) v Ridgeview (RVR) at LIGR Demo Stadium in the LIGR Demo League.

  3. Open the recording.

  4. Click Moments Editor at the top of the recording.

The Moments Editor opens with the whole match loaded on the timeline.

Open the Moments Editor from a highlight

Starting from a highlight is handy when you are already reviewing clips and spot something you want to capture differently, or want to find another point in the same match.

  1. Go to the Multimedia tab and open your highlights.

  2. Use the filter to narrow the list down to the match you want, then open a highlight from that match.

  3. Click Moments Editor above the player.

Even though you started from a single highlight, the editor loads the whole match, not just that one clip. This means you aren't limited to the highlight's length and can move anywhere in the game.

What you see in the Moments Editor

Whichever way you open it, the layout is the same.

The timeline

The whole match sits on the timeline, from the start of the recording to the end. Use it to move through the game and find the point you want to save, such as a goal, a save or a key incident. Because the full match is there, you can go back to earlier moments that were never turned into highlights.

The moments list

The moments already created for the match are listed on the right. This gives you a quick view of what has been captured so far, so you can check whether a moment already exists before you make a new one. Each new moment you save joins this list.

Which way should you use?

  • From a recording: use this after the match when you want to go through the full game and pick out several moments.

  • From a highlight: use this when you are working through highlights and want to jump straight into the full match to capture something nearby or missing.

Both routes take you to the same editor for the same match, so choose whichever is closest to where you are already working.

Tips and common mistakes

  • Check the match before you open it. Recordings and highlights from different matches can look similar in a list. Confirm the teams and date so you open the right game.

  • Can't find the Moments Editor button? Make sure you have opened a match recording or a highlight, not another type of media such as an uploaded image or video. If the match has only just finished, its recording may not be ready yet, so check back a little later.

  • Look at the moments list first. Scanning the list on the right before you start can save you from creating the same moment twice.

  • Don't expect only the highlight. Opening from a highlight still loads the full match, so take a moment to find your spot on the timeline.
