Open and watch a highlight

Open a highlight in the Multimedia tab to watch the clip, check the event, minute, score and player, and jump between other highlights from the list.

Once your match has highlights, you can open any of them to watch the clip and check what it shows. This article explains how to open a highlight, play it, read its details and move between highlights without going back to the list.

Before you start

  • Your organisation needs the Highlights & Clipping module. Highlights rely on Cloud Streaming, so the match must have been streamed through LIGR Live.

  • The match needs at least one highlight. Highlights are usually created from events recorded during the match, such as goals logged in the LiveScore app.

  • You need a role that can see the Multimedia tab.

Open a highlight

  1. Go to the Multimedia tab and open your highlights.

  2. Find the highlight you want. If you have a lot of highlights, use the filters to narrow the list down, for example to a single match such as Harbour City (HCF) v Ridgeview (RVR) in the LIGR Demo League.

  3. Click the highlight. It opens in its own view with the player, the clip details and the rest of your highlights list.

Watch the clip

The player shows the clip in full, from the start of the moment through to the end. Press play to watch it.

Watching the whole clip is the quickest way to check it is right before you use it. Look for these things:

  • The key action is fully in the clip and not cut off at the start or the end.

  • The clip is not too long, with a lot of play before or after the moment.

  • The pictures are the moment you expect, for example the goal itself and not the restart.

If the timing is off, you can change how much footage is included before and after the event with the lead and lag settings for highlights.

Check the details

The Details area tells you what the highlight is about. It shows:

  • Event: the type of moment, such as a goal or a card.

  • Minute: when in the match the event happened.

  • Score: the score at that point in the match, for example HCF 1 v 0 RVR.

  • Player: the player linked to the event, such as the goal scorer.

These details come from the match data, so they are only as accurate as what was recorded during the match. If a player or minute looks wrong, it usually means the event was entered that way in scoring. Checking the details before you share a clip helps you avoid posting the wrong name or score.

Move between highlights

On the right is the rest of your highlights list. Click any highlight in the list to jump straight to it. The player and the details update to show the highlight you picked.

This is handy when you are reviewing a whole match. You can work down the list one clip at a time, watching each one and checking its details, without closing the highlight and searching for the next one.

Tips and common mistakes

  • No highlights showing? Check that the match was streamed through LIGR Live and that events were recorded. Without both, there is nothing to build highlights from.

  • Wrong match in the list? Check your filters. The list on the right follows what you have filtered, so clear or change the filters to see other matches.

  • Details look wrong? Fix the event in the match data rather than working around it, so the information is correct everywhere it appears.

  • Watch before you share. Always play the full clip once before you download, share or add it to a compilation.
