View and edit a compilation

Open a compilation, review its clips, trim lead and lag or remove clips, re-generate the video, then download it or keep editing in the Video Editor.

Once you have built a compilation, you can open it at any time to review the clips inside it and fine-tune them. You can trim each clip's lead and lag, remove clips you no longer want, then rebuild the video so your changes are saved into the final file.

Before you start

  • You need at least one compilation already created. Compilations are built from highlights, and highlights rely on the Streaming module, so your organisation needs Streaming and Highlights & Clipping enabled.

  • Your role needs access to the Multimedia tab.

Open a compilation

  1. Go to Multimedia and open Compilations.

  2. Select the Videos tab to see your finished compilations.

  3. Click the compilation you want to work on. It opens in a full-screen view with the video player at the top.

You can play the whole compilation in the player first to get a feel for the pacing and spot any clips that start too early, finish too late or simply don't belong.

Review the clips in the compilation

Scroll down below the player to see every clip that makes up the compilation, listed in the order they play. For each clip you can see:

  • Event: the type of moment captured, such as a goal or a card.

  • Match: the match the clip came from, for example Harbour City (HCF) v Ridgeview (RVR) in the LIGR Demo League.

  • Minute: when the event happened in the match.

  • Duration: how long the clip runs in the compilation.

Each clip row also has its own actions:

  • Play the Clip from Start: jumps the player straight to that clip so you can check it without scrubbing through the whole video.

  • Edit Clip Length (the scissors icon): opens the lead and lag controls for that clip.

  • Delete: removes the clip from the compilation.

Trim a clip's lead and lag

Lead is the footage included before the event, and lag is the footage included after it. Adjusting them lets you tighten a clip that drags on, or give a moment more build-up or celebration time.

  1. Click the scissors icon on the clip you want to change.

  2. Adjust the lead to change how early the clip starts.

  3. Adjust the lag to change how late the clip finishes.

  4. Apply your changes. The clip's duration in the list updates to reflect the new length.

Repeat this for any other clips you want to trim. To remove a clip entirely, click Delete on its row instead.

Re-generate the video

Trimming or deleting clips does not change the video file straight away. Your edits are provisional until you rebuild the compilation.

  1. When you have finished all your edits, click Re-Generate Video in the top right corner.

  2. Wait while LIGR Live rebuilds the compilation with your updated clips. Longer compilations take more time to process.

  3. Once it has finished, play the compilation again to confirm your changes look right.

It is quicker to make all your trims and deletions first and re-generate once, rather than re-generating after every single change.

Download or keep editing

When you are happy with the result, you have two options:

  • Download: save the finished video to your computer so you can share it or upload it to your own channels.

  • Open in the Video Editor: keep working on the compilation on a timeline. The Video Editor lets you add media, transitions, animations, audio and more before exporting.

Tips and common mistakes

  • My changes are not showing in the video. You need to click Re-Generate Video after editing. Until you do, the compilation keeps playing the previous version.

  • Downloading too early. If you download before re-generating, you will get the old version. Re-generate first, check the result, then download.

  • Use Play the Clip from Start to check edits. It is the fastest way to review a single clip without watching the whole compilation.

  • Keep clips consistent. Similar lead and lag across clips usually gives a compilation a smoother, more professional rhythm.
