Players power your line-ups and player graphics in LIGR Live. This article shows you how to add players to a team, either one at a time or in bulk from a CSV. It also explains how the starters and bench you set become the default line-up for your matches.

Before you start
Create the club and team first. Players are added to a team, so the team needs to exist before you add its players.
Have the player details ready: names, shirt numbers, positions and head shot photos. For a large squad, a CSV file will save you time.
Add a player
In this example, we'll add a player to Harbour City (HCF) in the LIGR Demo League.
Click Assets in the left-hand menu, then Clubs and Teams. Open your team and click the Players tab.
Click Add Player to open the player details form.
Enter the player's First Name and Last Name.
Optionally, enter a Gfx First Name and Gfx Last Name. Use these when the name on graphics should be different from the player's full name, such as a shorter version or a well-known nickname. This is handy for long names that might not fit neatly on a lower third or line-up graphic.
Pick the Sport the player plays.
Click Add Team, then pick the player's team from the dropdown.
Enter the player's shirt Number. This appears next to their name in line-ups and on player graphics.
Turn on Starter if the player should be in the default starting line-up. Leave it off to place them on the bench. This applies to sports with starting line-ups, such as football.
Choose the Position Type. This is the player's position, and it's used in line-ups and on graphics.
Click Upload Photo to add a head shot. You can crop and zoom the image before clicking Save. The photo is used as the head shot on player graphics, so a clear, front-facing image works best.
Click Create Player. The player is added to the team and appears in the team's Players tab.
You can also create players from Assets > Players by clicking Create a Player. The form and steps are the same.
Import players in bulk from a CSV
If you have a full squad to add, importing is much quicker than adding players one by one.
From the team's Players tab (or Assets > Players), click Import Players.
Download the sample file to see the required format.
Fill in your player details so your CSV matches the sample, then upload it.
On the Import Data screen, use the dropdown to assign the imported players to a team, then confirm the import.
After importing, open a few players to check the details came through correctly, and add photos where needed.
The Players tab and the default line-up
The team's Players tab shows the full squad on the left. On the right are the default starting line-up and the default bench. Players with Starter turned on appear in the starting line-up, and everyone else sits on the bench.
This starters and bench split becomes the default line-up for the team's matches, so you don't have to build it from scratch every game. Keep it up to date as your squad changes.
Edit, remove or archive a player
Open a player from the team's Players tab to edit their details, such as their number, position, Gfx names or photo. Save your changes when you're done.
Remove from Team takes the player off this team but keeps them in LIGR Live. Use this when a player moves to another team.
Archive Player removes the player completely. Only use this when you no longer need the player at all.
Tips and common mistakes
No player names in a match. This is the most common issue. Make sure players are on the team before you create the match, and that Players is turned on in the match settings.
Use Gfx names for long or hard-to-fit names so your graphics stay tidy.
Check shirt numbers and positions before match day, as they appear on air in line-ups and player graphics.
Add head shots for every player so player graphics look consistent.
Choose Remove from Team rather than Archive Player if there's any chance you'll need the player again.
