How to configure match settings at competition level

Pre-configure match settings like half length, clock direction, injury time, and stats coverage that automatically apply to all new matches created under the competition.

Overview

Pre-configuring match settings at the competition level ensures consistency across all matches in that competition. When you set up period configuration, clock behavior, stats coverage, and player settings at the competition level, these settings automatically apply to every new match created under that competition. This saves time and ensures uniform settings across your league or tournament.

Accessing Competition Match Settings

To find these settings, click Assets in the left sidebar, then select Competitions and choose the competition you want to configure. From there, click Additional Settings and select Match Configuration to open the configuration screen.

Basic Match Configuration

The basic options available depend on your sport. For football, you can configure the half length (e.g., 45 minutes), the half time length (e.g., 15 minutes), and whether to enable extra time, golden goal, and shootout. Different sports show different configuration options based on their specific requirements.

Advanced Match Configuration

Click Advanced to access additional settings. Here you can toggle the clock display on or off, set the clock direction to count up from zero or count down from the match length, enable the injury time clock, and enable cumulative stats.

Stats Coverage Settings

Navigate to Additional Settings > Stats to configure statistics tracking. First, select the stat coverage level: Minimum Stats includes only essential statistics, while Standard Stats includes essential statistics plus additional statistics. Next, toggle Players on or off - when this is ON, players must be included in matches created under this competition, and when it is OFF, matches can be created without player rosters. Once you have made your selections, click Save. Note that if players are toggled off here, all new matches under this competition will have players disabled by default.

Saving Your Configuration

After configuring all settings, click Save at the bottom of the screen. These settings now apply automatically to all future matches created under this competition. Matches that have already been created are not affected by changes to competition-level settings - only new matches created after you save the configuration will inherit these settings.
