Overview

Period configuration controls match timing and structure when creating a match. These settings determine half length, half-time length, extra time, shootout options, and sport-specific settings like clock direction and injury time tracking.

If your competition has pre-configured match settings in Competition Settings > Additional Settings > Match Configuration, these fields auto-fill when you create a match under that competition.

Period Configuration Fields

When creating a match, the period configuration section includes:

Half length: Duration of each half (e.g., 45 minutes for football)

Half time length: Duration of the half-time break (e.g., 15 minutes)

Extra Time toggle: Enable if the match can go to extra time

Shootout toggle: Enable if the match can go to a shootout

The specific fields displayed depend on your sport. Different sports show different configuration options.

Advanced Settings

Click Advanced to access additional timing options:

Use Clock: Must be enabled for the match clock to display (enabled by default)

Clock Direction: Choose whether the clock counts up from 0 or counts down from the match length

Injury Time toggle: Enable to track injury/stoppage time (football)

Cumulative toggle: Toggle on for cumulative timing

Stop at Length OR Tick Until End: Choose clock behavior at the end of the period

Stat Coverage and Player Settings

Below period configuration, you'll configure statistical tracking:

Stat Coverage:

* Minimum: Basic match events only

* Standard: Full statistical coverage

Player Settings toggle: Toggle on PLAYERS if you want player-specific graphics and events

Player event capture level:

* All player events

* Major only (goals, cards, etc.)

* Team list only

Lineup Settings:

* Starting lineup size (e.g., 11 for football)

* Max bench size (e.g., 7 for football)

How Pre-Configured Settings Work

Competitions can have pre-configured match settings set up in Assets > Competitions > Additional Settings > Match Configuration. When you create a match under a competition with pre-configured settings:

1. Select the competition in the match creation form

2. The period configuration fields auto-fill with the competition's default settings

3. You can still modify these settings for the individual match if needed

4. The settings you configure apply only to this specific match

Editing Match Settings

Match settings cannot be edited once the match has started (either from the LiveScore app or from an external data provider).

To edit settings for a match that hasn't started:

1. Click Matches in the left sidebar

2. Find the match

3. Click the three-dot Actions menu

4. Select Settings

5. Make your changes

6. Click Save
