Overview

Assets you create in the Assets tab connect directly to the Matches and Streaming sections. Competitions, teams, players, and venues created in Assets determine what appears when you create a match. Settings configured at the competition level automatically apply to new matches created under that competition.

Understanding these connections helps you set up your organization efficiently and ensures matches inherit the correct settings without manual configuration every time.

How Competitions Connect to Matches

When you create a match, you select a competition first. This selection determines:

* Which teams appear in the home/away team dropdowns (only teams assigned to that competition are available)

* Which graphics theme appears on overlays (the theme assigned to the competition)

* Match configuration settings that automatically apply (period length, clock settings, stats coverage)

* Which venues are available for selection

You must create at least one competition and assign at least two teams to it before you can create your first match.

How Match Configuration Settings Apply

Competition-level match configuration settings automatically apply to all new matches created under that competition. These settings include:

* Half length (e.g., 45 minutes for football)

* Half time length (e.g., 15 minutes)

* Extra time, golden goal, or shootout options

* Clock display settings (on/off, direction, injury time)

* Cumulative stats toggle

* Stats coverage level (Minimum or Standard)

* Players toggle (whether players must be included in matches)

To configure these settings: Select the competition, click Additional Settings, then Match Configuration or Stats. Make your changes and click Save. All future matches created under this competition will inherit these settings.

These settings are sport-specific. Different sports show different configuration options.

How Teams Connect to Matches

Teams must be assigned to a competition before they can be used in match creation. When creating a match:

1. You select a competition first

2. Only teams assigned to that competition appear in the home/away team dropdowns

3. If a team doesn't appear, it's not assigned to the selected competition

To assign teams to a competition, edit the team in Assets > Clubs and Teams, then click on the Competitions section. A dropdown will appear with all available competitions. You can select one or multiple competitions.

You can change a team's competition assignment even after matches have been created. The match will still show that team under the competition it was assigned to before the team's competition assignment was changed and before the match started. If a new match is created with that team, it will appear under the newly assigned competition.

How Venues Connect to Matches

Venues created in Assets > Venues appear in the venue dropdown during match creation. Only venues created in the Assets tab will be available for match selection.

You cannot set a venue as a club's home venue unless it has already been created in the Venues section. Once created in Assets > Venues, the venue will be available for both club assignment and match selection.

How Players Connect to Matches

If players are enabled in the competition settings (Additional Settings > Stats > Players toggle set to ON), matches created under that competition will require player rosters.

Players must be added to team rosters in Assets before the match. During match creation or from the match settings, you can then add players to the match lineup.

If the Players toggle is set to OFF at the competition level, all new matches under this competition will have players disabled by default.

How Streams and Overlays Connect from Competition to Matches

Stream destinations and overlay configurations added at the competition level automatically apply to new matches created under that competition.

To add streams/overlays at the competition level:

1. Select the competition in Assets

2. Click Additional Settings

3. Navigate to Streams and Overlays

4. Click Add New Stream or configure overlay settings

5. Fill out configuration details

6. Choose:

* Create: Saves to competition only

* Create and Apply to Unstarted Matches: Also applies to existing matches that haven't started yet

Any future matches created under this competition will automatically inherit these stream and overlay settings.

Stream settings and overlay settings applied at the competition level cannot be applied retroactively to matches that have already started.

How Themes Connect to Graphics

Each competition must have one theme assigned. The theme determines how all overlays and graphics look for matches in that competition.

When you create a competition, you select a graphics theme. This theme includes different skins (color profiles) and determines what graphics look like during breaks, during play, and for player information.

You can change the theme later by selecting the competition, clicking the Theme Instance tab, and adding a new theme instance.

Common Connection Issues

Team doesn't appear when creating a match

The team must be assigned to the competition you selected for the match. Edit the team in Assets > Clubs and Teams and add the competition in the Competitions section.

Can't create a match - not enough teams

You need at least two teams assigned to the competition before you can create a match. Create or assign additional teams to the competition.

Stream settings aren't applying to matches

When adding streams/overlays at the competition level, choose "Create and Apply to Unstarted Matches" instead of just "Create." This applies settings to existing matches that haven't started yet. Matches that have already started cannot have competition-level settings applied retroactively.

Venue doesn't appear in match creation

Venues must be created in Assets > Venues to appear in match creation. You cannot set a venue as a club's home venue unless it has already been created in the Venues section. Once created in Assets > Venues, the venue will be available for both club assignment and match selection.
