Match page and settings

Open a match's own page to change its details, check its default streams and overlays, and see every change in the Activity tab. Settings lock once the match starts.

Every match has its own page. It holds the match's details and settings, its streams and overlays, and a full record of changes. This article covers what's on each tab and when you can still make changes.

Open the match page

  1. Go to Matches and find the match.

  2. Open the menu at the end of the match's row.

  3. Click Settings.

The match page opens on the Match tab. You'll also see the Streams and Overlays and Activity tabs.

Match tab

The Match tab shows the same details you set when you created the match. You can change anything here until the match starts.

  • Competition. The competition this match belongs to. It controls which teams you can pick.

  • Home and away teams. Only teams in the selected competition appear.

  • Date and time. When the match starts.

  • Venue. Only venues created in Assets appear.

  • Live Scorer. Optional. The person who logs events in the LiveScore app.

  • Period config. Timing for this match, such as half length, half-time length, and whether extra time or a shootout is played. Options vary by sport.

  • Stats. Stat coverage, either Minimum for the essentials or Standard for more detail.

  • Players. Turn on player graphics and events, and choose which player events are logged.

  • Line-up settings. The starting line-up size and the most players allowed on the bench.

  • Advanced. Clock settings: whether to use a clock, count up or down, cumulative time and injury time.

These settings started as copies of your competition settings. Changing them here only affects this match. The competition, and every other match in it, stays as it is. Save your changes before leaving the page.

When settings lock

Settings lock once the match starts. A match starts when the first LiveScore event comes in, or when your data provider starts sending data. After that, the Match tab is read only. Check the period config, players and line-up settings before kick-off, especially if your live scorer opens LiveScore early.

Streams and Overlays tab

This tab lists the streams and overlays for the match. It already has the defaults from your competition's Streams and Overlays settings, so most matches are ready without extra work. If this match needs more, for example a second stream to another destination or an extra overlay, add them here. Anything you add on this tab only applies to this match.

Activity tab

The Activity tab is a record of every change made to this match, and who made it. Use it when something looks different from what you expected, for example a changed kick-off time or a new live scorer, to see exactly what changed and when.

Tips and common mistakes

  • I can't edit the match. It has started. Settings lock as soon as the first LiveScore event arrives.

  • A team is missing from the dropdown. The team isn't in the match's competition. Add it on the team's General tab, then come back.

  • I changed the competition settings but this match didn't change. That's expected. Competition settings only apply to new matches. Change existing matches on their own Match tab.
