Match menu and live scorer

Use the match menu for quick actions on any match, change the live scorer for one or several matches, and cancel a match that hasn't started.

Every match in the Matches table has its own menu of quick actions. This article walks through what each option does, how to change the live scorer for one match or many at once, and how to cancel a match that hasn't started.

Before you start

  • You need at least one match in the Matches table. If you haven't made one yet, see How to create a match.

  • To assign a live scorer, the person must already be a user in your organisation with the Live Scorer role. Users without that role won't appear in the list.

Open the match menu

  1. Go to Matches.

  2. Find the match you want. Use the tabs and search if your list is long.

  3. Click the menu at the end of the match's row (the three dots).

The menu opens with every action available for that match. Some options depend on the match's status. For example, settings can only be changed before the match starts, and a match can only be cancelled if it hasn't started.

What's in the menu

  • Settings opens the match page, with the Match, Streams and Overlays, and Activity tabs. See Match page and settings.

  • Match Centre opens the match's events, highlights and recordings. It works for live and completed matches. See Using the Match Centre.

  • Notes opens the match notes, a handy place for anything your team needs to know about this match.

  • Streams and Overlays let you add or manage the streams and overlays for this match.

  • Change Live Scorer picks who logs this match in the LiveScore app.

  • LiveScore opens the LiveScore app for this match, so scoring can begin.

  • Cancel Match cancels a match that hasn't started yet.

Change the live scorer for one match

The live scorer is the person who logs match events, like goals, cards and substitutions, in the LiveScore app. Those events drive your live graphics, highlights and the Match Centre, so it matters that the right person has the match.

  1. Open the match menu and click Change Live Scorer.

  2. Pick the user from the list. Only users with the Live Scorer role are listed.

  3. Confirm your choice. The match now shows the new live scorer, and that person can open the match in LiveScore.

You can also set the live scorer when you create the match, or later from the match's Settings, until the match starts.

Change the live scorer for several matches

If one person is scoring a whole round, you don't need to change each match one by one.

  1. In Matches, tick the box next to each match you want to change.

  2. Open the bulk actions and click Change Live Scorer.

  3. Pick the user and confirm. Every ticked match is updated at once.

For more on bulk actions, see How to use match bulk actions.

Cancel a match

  1. Open the match menu and click Cancel Match.

  2. Confirm when asked.

The match moves to the Completed tab, marked as Cancelled. Cancel Match is only available for matches that haven't started. Once the first LiveScore event comes in, the match has started and can no longer be cancelled.

Tips and common mistakes

  • The person I want isn't in the live scorer list. They need the Live Scorer role. Check their role under your organisation's users first.

  • I can't find a cancelled match. Look in the Completed tab. Cancelled matches are kept there, not removed.

  • Set the live scorer well before match day, so the scorer can check they can see the match in LiveScore ahead of time.
