Transferring Organisation ownership in LIGR Live moves the Owner role from one user to another, passing full control of the Organisation, including billing and all assets, to a new person.
What Ownership Transfer Means
The Owner is the highest permission level in LIGR Live. There can only be one Owner per Organisation at any time. When you transfer ownership:
• The new Owner gains full access to all features, assets, and billing
• The previous Owner is typically demoted to an Admin role
• All Competitions, Clubs, Teams, Players, Venues, Matches, and other assets remain intact
• Existing users and their permissions are not affected
Before You Start
Before transferring ownership, make sure:
• The person you are transferring to already has a LIGR Live account and is a member of your Organisation
• You are currently signed in as the Owner (only the Owner can initiate a transfer)
• Billing details are up to date, as the new Owner will take over billing responsibility
• You have communicated the change to the incoming Owner so they are ready to accept

How to Transfer Ownership
1. Sign in to LIGR Live as the current Owner.
2. Open your Profile settings from the top navigation.
3. Go to the Permissions section.
4. Locate the user you want to promote to Owner in the users list.
5. Select the option to transfer ownership to that user.
6. Confirm the transfer when prompted.

Once confirmed, the selected user becomes the new Owner, and your role is updated to Admin.
After the Transfer
Once the transfer is complete:
• The new Owner should review billing details and payment methods
• The new Owner can manage all Admin, User, Gameday Operator, Live Scorer, and Media Viewer roles
• The previous Owner retains Admin access unless the new Owner changes it
• Club Portal roles (Club Admin, Club Super Admin, Club User) are unaffected
Tips
• Only transfer ownership to someone you fully trust, as the Owner has complete control over the Organisation and billing.
• If you are leaving the Organisation entirely, ask the new Owner to remove your account after the transfer is complete.
• Keep a record of when the transfer happened and who the new Owner is for internal reference.
• If your Organisation has multiple Admins, consider reviewing their permissions after the transfer so responsibilities are clear.
Common Issues
The user I want to transfer to is not in the list The incoming Owner must already be a member of your Organisation. Invite them as a User or Admin first, then initiate the transfer.
I cannot see the transfer option Only the current Owner can transfer ownership. If you are an Admin, ask the Owner to perform the transfer.
The transfer did not complete Refresh the page and check the Permissions section to confirm the new Owner. If the issue persists, contact LIGR support.
Billing issues after the transfer The new Owner should review payment methods and billing contacts immediately, as invoices and subscription management will now be tied to their account.
