Setting Up Live Scorer Access

Written by Julian Rodrigues
Updated today

Live Scorer access lets you give someone permission to use the LiveScore App to record match events like goals, cards, and substitutions, without giving them access to the rest of your LIGR Live Organisation.

What Is a Live Scorer?

A Live Scorer is a restricted user role in LIGR Live. Users assigned this role can only access the LiveScore App to capture Match Facts during a live match. They cannot access the Control Room, create matches, or change Organisation settings.

This role is ideal for:

• Volunteers or club staff who score matches on the sideline

• Remote scorers working on specific fixtures

• Club members who need to log match events but should not manage production

Before You Start

Make sure you have:

• Owner or Admin access to the Organisation

• The email address of the person you want to invite

• At least one Match created in LIGR Live that the Live Scorer can open in the LiveScore App

Inviting a Live Scorer

Follow these steps to add a new Live Scorer to your Organisation.

1. Open your LIGR Live dashboard and go to your Profile area.

2. Select the Permissions section.

3. Click Invite User (or the equivalent add-user button on the Permissions page).

4. Enter the email address of the person you want to invite.

5. Under role, select Live Scorer.

6. Send the invitation.

The invited user will receive an email with instructions to accept the invitation and set up their account.

Accessing the LiveScore App

Once the user accepts the invitation, they can log in to the LiveScore App using the same credentials they set up for LIGR Live.

1. Download the LiveScore App on a mobile device.

2. Log in with the invited account's email and password.

3. Select the match to score from the list of available Matches in your Organisation.

4. Begin recording Match Facts as the match progresses.

Changing or Removing Live Scorer Access

If you need to update access for an existing user:

1. Go to the Permissions section of your Profile.

2. Find the user in the list.

3. Change their role to a different permission level, or remove them from the Organisation.

Tips

• Assign Live Scorer access only to people who need to capture Match Facts. For anyone who also needs to operate overlays, use the Gameday Operator role instead.

• Ask your Live Scorers to test the LiveScore App on a non-live match before their first real fixture so they can get familiar with the interface.

• Make sure the Live Scorer has a stable internet connection during the match so Match Facts sync in real time.

Common Issues

Live Scorer cannot see the match in the LiveScore App: Confirm the match has been created in LIGR Live and is assigned to a Competition the user has access to.

Invitation email not received: Check spam folders, and confirm the email address was entered correctly in the Permissions page.

Live Scorer can't access the Control Room: This is expected behaviour. The Live Scorer role is limited to the LiveScore App only.

Match Facts not appearing on overlays: Make sure the Match is live and that a Game Plan or Automated Game Plan is configured to trigger graphics from the events being logged.
