This article explains how to give a team member Gameday Operator access in LIGR Live so they can create matches, manage overlays, and run the Control Room on match day.
What is a Gameday Operator?
A Gameday Operator is a user role in LIGR Live designed for production staff who run live matches. It gives them the access they need to operate broadcasts without exposing billing, ownership, or organisation-level settings.
What a Gameday Operator can do
• Create and manage Matches
• Access the Control Room for any Match
• Trigger Overlays, Graphics, and Playlists during a live Match
• Work with Themes and Theme Instances already set up in your Organisation
• Use Production Links and Monitoring Links
What a Gameday Operator cannot do
• Manage billing or transfer Organisation ownership
• Change Organisation-wide settings reserved for Owners and Admins
• Access the LiveScore App features reserved for Live Scorer accounts (unless also assigned that role)
Before You Start
Make sure you have:
• Owner or Admin access to your Organisation
• The email address of the person you want to invite
• Any Competitions, Clubs, and Teams they will be working with already created

Updating an Existing User to Gameday Operator
If a user already exists in your Organisation under a different role:
1. Go to the Permissions section in your Profile.
2. Find the user in the list.
3. Open their user settings.
4. Change their role to Gameday Operator.
5. Save the change.
The new permissions take effect the next time they sign in.
Giving Gameday Operators the Right Links
Once a Gameday Operator is set up, share the links they need for each Match:
• Production Link — opens the Control Room for a specific Match so they can trigger Overlays and Graphics
• Monitoring Link — lets them watch the Graphics output without control access, useful for supervisors or secondary operators
Tips
• Assign Gameday Operator rather than Admin to anyone who only needs match-day production access. This keeps your Organisation settings and billing protected.
• If the same person also needs to record Match Facts, consider whether they should have a Live Scorer role on a separate device using the LiveScore App.
• Set up your Themes, Theme Instances, and Automated Game Plans before match day so the Gameday Operator has everything ready in the Control Room.
• For recurring events, create Matches in advance and share the Production Links with your operators the day before.
Common Issues
The Gameday Operator can't see a Match Check that the Match has been created under a Competition in your Organisation. Gameday Operators only see Matches within the Organisation they belong to.
They can't access billing or Organisation settings This is expected. Only Owners and Admins can access those areas. If they need this access, change their role to Admin.
They can't record goals, cards, or other Match Facts Match Facts are recorded in the LiveScore App by a Live Scorer. Assign the Live Scorer role if they also need to score.
The invitation email didn't arrive Ask the user to check their spam folder. If it's still missing, resend the invitation from the Permissions section.
They can see the Control Room but graphics aren't triggering Confirm that a Theme Instance has been assigned to the Competition and that an Automated Game Plan or Manual Mode setup is in place for the Match.
