What are Profile Connections?

Written by Julian Rodrigues
Updated today

Profile Connections let you link your LIGR Live account to external services and platforms, so you can stream, share, and integrate content without re-entering credentials each time.

Overview

Connections are managed from your Profile area in LIGR Live. Once a connection is set up, LIGR Live can send streams or content to that service, or pull in data from it, depending on the type of connection.

You'll use Profile Connections when you need to:

• Send live streams from LIGR Live to external destinations

• Link third-party accounts used in your broadcasts

• Authorise LIGR Live to interact with platforms you already use

Where to Find Connections

Profile Connections are located within your Profile & Account area.

1. Click your profile icon or name in LIGR Live.

2. Open the Profile section.

3. Select Connections from the available options.

From here you can view existing connections, add new ones, or remove connections you no longer need.

What Connections Are Used For

Connections support key broadcasting workflows in LIGR Live, including:

Streaming Destinations — Authorising platforms so streams can be sent directly from LIGR Live to services like YouTube Live or Facebook Live.

Account Linking — Keeping your LIGR Live account linked to services you use alongside your broadcasts.

Persistent Authorisation — Avoiding the need to log in to external services every time you set up a new match or Destination.

Managing Your Connections

Adding a New Connection

1. Go to Profile > Connections.

2. Select the service you want to connect.

3. Follow the authorisation prompts from that service.

4. Once authorised, the connection will appear in your Connections list.

Removing a Connection

1. Open Profile > Connections.

2. Find the connection you want to remove.

3. Select the remove or disconnect option next to it.

4. Confirm when prompted.

Removing a connection will stop LIGR Live from sending content to, or pulling data from, that service until it is reconnected.

Tips

• Set up your Connections before creating Destinations for a match, so your streaming targets are ready to use.

• If a connection stops working, remove it and reconnect to refresh the authorisation.

• Only Owners and Admins should typically manage Connections, as these affect how streams reach external platforms.

Common Issues

Connection expired: Some services require periodic re-authorisation. Remove and re-add the connection if streams stop reaching the Destination.

Missing permissions: If you can't add a connection, check your user role under Profile & Account. Standard Users may not have access to manage Connections.

Destination not appearing: If a newly connected service isn't showing up when configuring a match, refresh the page or check that the authorisation completed successfully.
