How to Add a Stream Destination

Written by Julian Rodrigues

Adding a Stream Destination in LIGR Live lets you send your live match output to external platforms like YouTube Live, Facebook Live, or any custom RTMP endpoint.

What Is a Stream Destination?

A Destination is where your live stream is sent after it passes through LIGR Live with graphics applied. You can add one or multiple Destinations to a single match, allowing you to broadcast to several platforms at the same time.

Common Destinations include:

• YouTube Live

• Facebook Live

• Custom RTMP endpoints (e.g. other streaming platforms or CDNs)

Prerequisites

Before adding a Stream Destination, make sure you have:

• A match already created in LIGR Live

• An Input configured so LIGR is receiving video from your encoder (OBS, vMix, or hardware encoder)

• The RTMP URL and Stream Key from the platform you want to broadcast to

Adding a Stream Destination

Step 1: Open the Match Stream View

1. Click the Matches tab in the left sidebar.

3. Open the Stream View page for that match.

Step 3: Choose a Destination Type

Select the type of Destination you want to add:

YouTube Live — for streaming to a YouTube channel

Facebook Live — for streaming to a Facebook page or profile

Custom RTMP — for any other RTMP-compatible platform

Step 4: Enter the Destination Details

Fill in the required fields based on your chosen platform:

Name — a label to help you identify this Destination

RTMP URL — the server URL provided by the destination platform

Stream Key — the unique key that authorises your stream

Step 5: Save the Destination

Click Save to add the Destination to your match. It will now appear in the Destinations list for that match.

Starting the Stream to Your Destination

Once saved, the Destination will not go live automatically. You need to:

1. Confirm your Input is connected and healthy.

2. Start the stream from the Stream View.

3. Verify that the Destination shows as active once the stream begins.

Tips

• Double-check the RTMP URL and Stream Key before saving — a single incorrect character will prevent the stream from connecting.

• Add multiple Destinations if you need to broadcast to several platforms simultaneously.

• Test your Destinations before match day with a short test stream to confirm everything is configured correctly.

• Keep Stream Keys private. Treat them like passwords.

Common Issues

Destination shows as disconnected or failed

• Verify the RTMP URL and Stream Key are correct and have not expired.

• Check that the destination platform (YouTube, Facebook) is ready to receive a stream.

• Confirm your Input is active and sending video to LIGR.

Stream starts in LIGR but not on the destination platform

• Some platforms require you to manually start the broadcast on their end after the stream is received.

• Check the platform's dashboard to confirm it is receiving the feed.

Poor quality or dropped frames at the Destination

• Check the health of your Input in the Streaming tab.

• Review bitrate and connection stability on your encoder.
