Troubleshooting Connection Issues

Written by Julian Rodrigues
Updated today

The Connections area of your Profile lets you link external services and integrations to LIGR Live, and this guide helps you resolve common problems when those connections fail or stop working as expected.

Overview

Connections allow your LIGR Live organisation to interact with third-party services used for streaming destinations, scoring, and media delivery. When a connection breaks, it can affect streams going to destinations like YouTube Live or Facebook Live, cause issues with the LiveScore App, or prevent graphics from updating correctly during a match.

This guide covers how to identify, diagnose, and fix common connection issues from your Profile.

Before You Start

Before troubleshooting, confirm the following:

• You are signed in as an Owner or Admin (some connection settings are restricted by permission level)

• You have access to the third-party service you are trying to connect (e.g. YouTube, Facebook)

• Your internet connection is stable

• No match is currently live that depends on the connection you are about to change

Checking the Status of a Connection

1. Go to Profile & Account in the left sidebar.

2. Open the Connections section.

3. Review each listed connection for its current status.

4. If a connection shows as disconnected, expired, or errored, select it to view details.

Common Issues

Connection Shows as Disconnected

This usually means the authentication token with the third-party service has expired or been revoked.

1. Select the affected connection.

2. Click Reconnect (or the equivalent re-authentication option).

3. Sign in to the third-party service when prompted.

4. Confirm the connection status updates to connected.

Stream Not Reaching a Destination

If your Stream is running in LIGR Live but not appearing on your Destination:

• Confirm the Destination is still linked under Connections

• Check that the third-party account (YouTube, Facebook, RTMP endpoint) is still active and has live streaming enabled

• Re-authenticate the connection if the token has expired

• Verify the Destination settings on the match Stream View page

LiveScore App Events Not Appearing

If a Live Scorer is capturing Match Facts but they are not showing in the Control Room:

• Confirm the scorer is signed in to the correct organisation at https://score.ligr.live/login

• Check that the scorer has been assigned to the match

• Ask the scorer to refresh their browser

• Confirm their device has a stable internet connection

Permission Errors When Reconnecting

If you see a permission error:

• Confirm your user role is Owner or Admin

• If you are a User or Gameday Operator, ask an Admin to manage the connection

• Some connections can only be authorised by the Owner

Connection Repeatedly Drops

If a connection keeps disconnecting:

• Revoke the connection from the third-party service's own settings page

• Remove the connection in LIGR Live

• Re-add it from scratch to generate a fresh token

Tips

• Test connections before match day, not during a live broadcast

• Keep a note of which team member originally authorised each connection — some services tie tokens to a specific user account

• If you change the password on a linked third-party account, you will usually need to reconnect in LIGR Live

• Use the Activity page to see when a connection was last modified and by whom

• For critical matches, confirm your Destinations are green and active at least 30 minutes before kick-off

When to Contact Support

Contact LIGR support if:

• A connection will not reconnect after multiple attempts

• You see errors that do not match any of the issues above

• A connection disappears from your Profile unexpectedly

• Streaming to a Destination fails despite the connection showing as active

Include the connection name, time of the issue, and the match involved (if applicable) to speed up resolution.
