Written by Julian Rodrigues

The LiveScore App lets you record live Match Facts for basketball matches, such as points scored, fouls, and substitutions, which feed directly into your Scorebug and other graphics in the Control Room.

Before You Start

Make sure the following are in place before the match begins:

• The Match has been created under a basketball Competition in LIGR Live

• Both Teams are assigned to the Match with their Players listed

• You have Live Scorer (or higher) permissions for the Organisation

• You have the LiveScore App installed on your mobile device and are signed in

Opening the Match in the LiveScore App

1. Open the LiveScore App and sign in with your LIGR credentials.

2. Find the basketball Match you want to score in your match list.

3. Tap the Match to open the scoring interface.

4. Confirm the two Teams and starting lineups are correct.

Confirming Lineups

Before tip-off, check that each Team's roster matches the physical lineup on court. If a Player is missing or incorrect, update the Team assets in LIGR Live before starting the Match.

Starting the Match

1. Tap Start Match when the game is about to begin.

2. The clock and period will begin tracking based on your Competition settings.

3. The Scorebug and any live graphics in the Control Room will now reflect the Match state.

Recording Match Facts

Match Facts are the individual events you log during play. For basketball, the LiveScore App supports scoring-related events and common in-game actions.

Recording Points

1. Tap the Team that scored.

2. Select the Player who scored.

3. Choose the point value for the shot (for example, 1, 2, or 3 points).

4. Confirm to submit the Match Fact.

The score on the Scorebug will update automatically.

Recording Fouls

1. Tap the fouls option for the relevant Team.

2. Select the Player who committed the foul.

3. Confirm the entry.

Recording Substitutions

1. Open the substitution option for the Team making the change.

2. Select the Player coming off.

3. Select the Player coming on.

4. Confirm the substitution.

Managing Periods and the Clock

• Use the period controls to end a quarter or period when play stops.

• Start the next period when play resumes.

• Period changes are recorded as Match Facts and can trigger graphics via an Automated Game Plan.

Correcting Mistakes

If you log an incorrect Match Fact:

1. Open the Match events list in the LiveScore App.

2. Find the incorrect entry.

3. Edit or delete the event.

4. Re-enter the correct Match Fact if needed.

Corrections flow through to the Scorebug, the Review Page, and the Match Centre.

Ending the Match

1. When the final period is complete, tap End Match.

2. Review the final score and Match Facts summary.

3. Confirm to finalise the Match.

Once ended, the Match becomes available on the Review Page with full event data and any recordings.

Tips

• Keep your device plugged in or fully charged — scoring a full basketball Match drains batteries quickly.

• Use a stable internet connection so Match Facts sync in real time with the Control Room.

• Assign a dedicated Live Scorer separate from the Gameday Operator running the Control Room.

• Double-check the Player selection before confirming points, especially for three-pointers.

• If your Competition uses a Data Coverage level higher than Minimum, record as many event types as possible to enrich post-match stats.

Common Issues

Scores not updating on the Scorebug Check your internet connection. If the LiveScore App is offline, Match Facts will queue and sync once reconnected.

Wrong Player listed in a Team Exit the Match, update the Player in the Team asset in LIGR Live, then reopen the Match.

Match won't start Confirm the Match has been fully created in LIGR Live with both Teams assigned, and that the Match time has been set correctly.

Duplicate events If the app appears unresponsive and you tap multiple times, check the events list afterwards and delete any duplicates.
