How to Edit or Delete Match Facts

Editing or deleting Match Facts in the LiveScore App lets you correct mistakes made during live scoring, such as a goal assigned to the wrong player, an incorrect card, or an event logged at the wrong time.

What Are Match Facts?

Match Facts are the individual events you record in the LiveScore App during a match. These include:

• Goals

• Cards (yellow and red)

• Substitutions

• Corners

• Period changes

• Other sport-specific events

Because Match Facts drive live graphics, stats, and the Review Page, keeping them accurate matters. Fortunately, you can edit or remove them at any point during or after the match.

Before You Start

Make sure you have:

• Live Scorer (or higher) access to the organisation

• The match open in the LiveScore App

• A stable internet connection so your changes sync to the Control Room

How to Edit a Match Fact

Use Edit when the event itself was correct but a detail (player, time, team, or type) needs to be changed.

1. Open the match in the LiveScore App.

2. Navigate to the match events list (timeline of recorded Match Facts).

3. Tap the Match Fact you want to change.

4. Update the relevant details, such as:

• The player involved

• The team

• The event type

• The match time or period

1. Save your changes.

The updated Match Fact will sync to the Control Room, live graphics, and the Match Centre.

How to Delete a Match Fact

Use Delete when an event was recorded by mistake and should not appear anywhere.

1. Open the match in the LiveScore App.

2. Go to the match events list.

3. Tap the Match Fact you want to remove.

4. Select the delete option.

5. Confirm the deletion.

Once deleted, the Match Fact is removed from the score, stats, and any connected overlays.

Tips

Edit rather than delete and re-add where possible. Editing preserves the original event time and keeps your timeline clean.

Check the scorebug after making a change to confirm the live graphics have updated.

Coordinate with the Gameday Operator if a correction happens mid-broadcast, so they can manage any overlays already triggered by the original event.

Review Match Facts post-match on the Review Page to catch anything missed during live play.

Common Issues

My change isn't showing in the Control Room Check your internet connection. Match Facts sync in real time, so a dropped connection can delay updates. Once reconnected, changes will push through.

I deleted a goal but the scorebug still shows the old score Give it a few seconds to sync. If the scorebug doesn't update, the Gameday Operator may need to refresh the overlay from the Control Room.

I can't find the Match Fact I want to edit Scroll through the full match events list and confirm you're in the correct match. Events are listed by time and period.

An automated graphic already played for the wrong event Editing or deleting the Match Fact corrects the data, but it won't recall an overlay that's already been shown on stream. Let the Gameday Operator know if a correction graphic is needed.
