How to Play Graphics During a Match

Written by Julian Rodrigues

Playing graphics during a match in LIGR Live is done from the Control Room, where you can trigger overlays manually, let an Automated Game Plan handle them for you, or use a mix of both.

Before You Start

Before you can play graphics, make sure:

• Your Match has been created under a Competition

• A Theme Instance is assigned to the Match

• You have opened the Control Room using the Production Link for the Match

Understanding Your Options

There are two main ways graphics play during a Match in LIGR Live:

Manual Mode — You trigger each Graphic yourself from the Control Room

Automated Game Plan — Graphics and Playlists play automatically based on Match Facts recorded in the LiveScore App

You can also combine both approaches, letting automation handle routine Graphics while you manually trigger extras like sponsor Graphics or lower thirds.

Playing Graphics Manually

Manual Mode gives you full control over when each Graphic appears on screen.

Steps to Trigger a Graphic Manually

1. Open the Control Room using the Production Link for your Match

2. Locate the Graphic you want to play in the Control Room's graphics list

3. Preview the Graphic to check its content and data

4. Click the play button to push the Graphic to the live output

5. Click the stop or hide button to remove the Graphic from the output

Playing a Playlist Manually

Playlists let you trigger a sequence of Graphics with a single action.

1. Find the Playlist in the Control Room

2. Click play to start the sequence

3. The Graphics within the Playlist will play in their configured order

Playing Graphics with an Automated Game Plan

An Automated Game Plan plays Graphics and Playlists automatically in response to Match events, without needing an operator to trigger them.

How Automation Works

• Match Facts captured in the LiveScore App (such as goals, cards, or period changes) trigger the Game Plan

• Pre-game and post-game Playlists can also be scheduled

• The Game Plan's priority system decides which Graphic plays if multiple are triggered at once

Steps to Use an Automated Game Plan

1. Ensure an Automated Game Plan is configured and assigned to the Match

2. Open the Control Room using the Production Link

3. Confirm the Scorebug is live on output

4. As Match Facts are recorded in the LiveScore App, Graphics will play automatically

5. Monitor the output and intervene manually only if needed

Combining Manual and Automated Control

Even when an Automated Game Plan is running, you can still manually trigger Graphics from the Control Room. This is useful for:

• Playing sponsor Graphics or Image Templates on demand

• Triggering lower thirds for commentators or interviews

• Playing a Sponsor Loop between events

• Overriding or stopping an automated Graphic early

Tips

• Always preview a Graphic before pushing it live to check the data is correct

• Use the Monitoring Link to watch the Graphics output without risk of accidentally triggering anything

• If you're new to the Control Room, start in Manual Mode to get familiar with the graphics list

• Keep the LiveScore App operator in sync with your production so automated triggers land at the right time

• Test your Game Plan before the Match starts by running through a few example Match Facts

Common Issues

A Graphic is not appearing on the output

• Check that the Theme Instance is correctly assigned to the Match

• Confirm the stream Input is connected and the Control Room output is live

Automated Graphics are not firing

• Verify that an Automated Game Plan is assigned to the Match

• Make sure the Live Scorer is recording Match Facts in the LiveScore App

• Check the Game Plan rules cover the events you expect to trigger Graphics

Two Graphics played at the same time or in the wrong order

• Review your Game Plan's priority settings

• If manually triggering, stop the current Graphic before playing the next

Graphics show the wrong team or player data

• Confirm Teams, Players, and the Match itself have the correct data assigned before kickoff
