Monitoring Graphics Output Without Control

Written by Julian Rodrigues
Updated today

The Monitoring Link lets you watch the live graphics output of a match in LIGR Live without being able to trigger or change anything in the Control Room.

This guide covers what a Monitoring Link is, when to use it, and how to share it with people who need to see the graphics but shouldn't operate them.

What Is a Monitoring Link?

A Monitoring Link is a view-only URL that shows the live graphics output for a specific match. Anyone with the link can see exactly what graphics are currently on screen, but they cannot:

• Trigger overlays or playlists

• Change the Game Plan

• Edit the scorebug or any graphic

• Interact with the Control Room in any way

This is different from a Production Link, which opens the full Control Room and gives the operator control over all graphics during the match.

When to Use a Monitoring Link

Use a Monitoring Link when you need to give someone visibility of the live output without risking accidental changes. Common use cases include:

Commentators and presenters who want to see what graphics are currently showing

Producers and directors monitoring the broadcast from another location

Clients or sponsors who want to confirm their graphics are playing correctly

Support staff troubleshooting alongside the Gameday Operator

Quality checks during a match without interrupting the operator

How to Find the Monitoring Link for a Match

1. Open your LIGR Live Organisation and navigate to the match you want to monitor.

2. Open the match details page.

3. Locate the sharing or links section, where both the Production Link and Monitoring Link are listed.

4. Copy the Monitoring Link.

5. Share it with anyone who needs view-only access.

Production Link vs Monitoring Link

It's important to understand the difference between the two links available for every match:

Production Link — Opens the Control Room with full operator control. Use this for the Gameday Operator running the match.

Monitoring Link — Opens a view-only version of the graphics output. Use this for anyone who needs to see the output but not control it.

Only share the Production Link with trusted operators. The Monitoring Link is safe to share more widely.

Tips

• Open the Monitoring Link in a second browser tab or on a second screen so you can keep an eye on graphics while doing other work.

• The Monitoring Link works on any device with a modern browser, so it's useful for on-the-go checks from a phone or tablet.

• If you're running a Manual Mode match, the Monitoring Link is especially useful for a director to confirm the operator is triggering the right graphics at the right time.

• Bookmark Monitoring Links for matches you regularly check in on.

Common Issues

The Monitoring Link shows no graphics. Make sure the match is live and that the Gameday Operator has the Control Room open. The Monitoring Link mirrors whatever is being output from the Control Room.

The person with the Monitoring Link is asking how to trigger a graphic. They can't — that's by design. If they need to trigger graphics, give them the Production Link instead, or assign them the Gameday Operator role.

The Monitoring Link looks out of sync with the live stream. There's always a small delay between the graphics output and the final encoded stream on platforms like YouTube Live. The Monitoring Link reflects the raw graphics output in near real time, which will usually be ahead of the public stream.

Sharing the link with someone outside the Organisation. Monitoring Links do not require the recipient to have a LIGR Live account, so you can share them with external stakeholders without adding them as users.
