Production Link vs Monitoring Link

Written by Julian Rodrigues
Updated today

LIGR Live provides two distinct URLs for every match — a Production Link for operating overlays and a Monitoring Link for viewing the graphics output without control access.

Understanding the difference between these two links helps you share the right access with the right people during a live match.

What Each Link Does

Every match in LIGR Live generates both a Production Link and a Monitoring Link. They serve different purposes and should be shared accordingly.

Production Link

The Production Link opens the Control Room for a specific match. Anyone with this link and the correct permissions can:

• Trigger overlays and graphics manually

• Start and stop playlists

• Control the scorebug

• Manage the match during live broadcast

• Override or adjust Automated Game Plan actions

This link is intended for Gameday Operators and any team members actively running the broadcast.

Monitoring Link

The Monitoring Link opens a view-only version of the graphics output. Anyone with this link can:

• See the live graphics as they play out

• Monitor the scorebug and overlays in real time

• Confirm that the correct graphics are firing during the match

The Monitoring Link does not allow the viewer to trigger, edit, or stop any graphics.

When to Use Each Link

Choosing the right link depends on the role of the person receiving it.

Use the Production Link when:

• You are the Gameday Operator running the match

• A second operator needs to take over or assist in the Control Room

• You want to test overlays and graphics before going live

Use the Monitoring Link when:

• A producer, director, or client wants to watch the graphics output without risk of interfering

• A remote stakeholder needs to confirm graphics are playing correctly

• You want to bring the graphics feed into production software for reference

• Multiple people need visibility without needing control

How to Access the Links

Both links are available from the match page inside your organisation.

1. Open your LIGR Live dashboard.

2. Navigate to the match you want to access.

3. Locate the Production Link and Monitoring Link options on the match page.

4. Copy the link you need and share it with the appropriate person.

Tips

• Only share the Production Link with users who should be able to trigger graphics. Once someone has access to the Control Room, they can affect the live broadcast.

• Use the Monitoring Link for clients or stakeholders who want reassurance that the broadcast is running smoothly.

• Bookmark both links on match day so you can switch between them quickly if needed.

• The Monitoring Link is useful for QA — open it on a second screen while operating from the Production Link to see exactly what your audience sees.

Common Issues

The Monitoring Link shows a blank screen. Make sure the match has started and that graphics are actually being triggered. The Monitoring Link only displays graphics when they are live on the output.

Someone with the Production Link is accidentally triggering graphics. Revoke access and send them the Monitoring Link instead. Only share the Production Link with trained operators.

The Production Link is not loading the Control Room. Check that the user has the correct permission level (Gameday Operator, Admin, or Owner). Users without Control Room access will not be able to open the Production Link.
