How to Use the Production Link

Written by Julian Rodrigues
Updated today

The Production Link is a unique URL that opens the Control Room for a specific match, giving operators access to trigger and manage overlays, graphics, and playlists live during a broadcast.

What the Production Link Does

The Production Link is how Gameday Operators and other authorised users access the live production interface for a match. Opening the link loads the Control Room, where you can:

• Trigger overlays and graphics manually

• Monitor the Automated Game Plan as it runs

• Manage scorebugs, lower thirds, and full-screen graphics

• Control playlists and sponsor loops

• Switch between Manual Mode and automated triggers

Each match has its own Production Link, so you can share access to a specific match without giving someone wider Organisation access.

Prerequisites

Before you can use a Production Link, make sure:

• The match has been created under a Competition

• A Theme Instance has been assigned to the Competition or match

• You have the correct permission level (Owner, Admin, User, or Gameday Operator)

• You are signed in to your LIGR Live account in the same browser

Finding the Production Link

1. Log in to LIGR Live.

2. Navigate to the match you want to operate.

3. Open the match details page.

4. Locate the Production Link in the match actions or links section.

5. Copy the link or click it to open the Control Room directly.

Sharing the Production Link

You can share the Production Link with another operator so they can run the match from their own device.

1. Copy the Production Link from the match page.

2. Send it to the operator via email, chat, or your production communication tool.

3. Make sure the recipient has a LIGR Live account with at least Gameday Operator permissions in your Organisation.

4. They can open the link and access the Control Room for that match only.

Production Link vs. Monitoring Link

It is important not to confuse the two:

Production Link — full control access. Use this for operators who will trigger overlays.

Monitoring Link — view-only access to the graphics output. Use this for directors, producers, or clients who need to watch the output without controlling it.

Tips

• Bookmark the Production Link for recurring matches so you can jump straight into the Control Room.

• Open the Production Link well before kick-off to confirm the Theme Instance, graphics, and Game Plan are loaded correctly.

• Use a wired internet connection where possible to avoid interruptions during live triggering.

• If you are working with a second operator, share the Monitoring Link — not a second copy of the Production Link — to avoid conflicting triggers.

Common Issues

The Production Link shows an access error. Check that you are signed in to the correct LIGR Live account and that your user has permission to operate matches in this Organisation.

The Control Room loads but graphics are missing. Confirm that a Theme Instance has been assigned to the Competition. Without a Theme Instance, overlays will not render.

Another operator is already in the Control Room. Multiple operators opening the Production Link at the same time can cause conflicting triggers. Agree on who is running the match, and have the other user switch to the Monitoring Link.

The match data looks wrong. Return to the match page and verify team assignments, kick-off time, and Competition settings before reopening the Production Link.
