How to Trigger the Scorebug in Manual Mode

Written by Julian Rodrigues
Updated today

Manual Mode lets you control exactly when the Scorebug appears, updates, and disappears during a match, giving you full operator control over the live score graphic.

What Is the Scorebug?

The Scorebug is the small persistent Overlay that sits on your stream showing the live score, match time, and team information. In an Automated Game Plan, the Scorebug is triggered automatically based on match events. In Manual Mode, you decide when it goes on and off air from the Control Room.

Prerequisites

Before you can trigger the Scorebug in Manual Mode, make sure you have:

• A Match created under a Competition

• A Theme Instance assigned to the Competition or Match

• Access to the Control Room via the Production Link

• The Match set to Manual Mode (rather than an Automated Game Plan)

Switching the Match to Manual Mode

If your Match is currently using an Automated Game Plan, you'll need to switch it to Manual Mode first.

1. Open the Match from your Matches list.

2. Open the Control Room using the Production Link.

3. Locate the mode toggle in the Control Room.

4. Select Manual Mode.

Once in Manual Mode, no graphics will trigger automatically — every Overlay, including the Scorebug, must be triggered by you.

Triggering the Scorebug On Air

1. In the Control Room, find the Scorebug in the list of available Graphics.

2. Click the Scorebug to select it.

3. Press the In (or play) control to send the Scorebug to air.

4. Confirm the Scorebug is visible in the preview or Monitoring Link output.

Updating the Scorebug During the Match

The Scorebug will reflect score and time data as it's recorded. To update it:

• Have your Live Scorer record Match Facts (such as goals) in the LiveScore App, or

• Adjust the score manually from the Control Room if your workflow allows it

The Scorebug on air will update in real time as the data changes.

Taking the Scorebug Off Air

1. Select the Scorebug in the Control Room.

2. Press the Out (or stop) control.

3. Confirm the Scorebug has been removed from the live output.

You can bring the Scorebug back on air at any point by repeating the trigger steps.

Tips

• Keep the Monitoring Link open on a second screen so you can visually confirm when the Scorebug is on or off air without affecting the live output.

• If you're running a long Match, consider leaving the Scorebug on air for most of the broadcast and only taking it off for full-screen Graphics or replays.

• In Manual Mode, you can still trigger other Graphics (like lower thirds or lineup cards) alongside the Scorebug — the Scorebug will remain on air until you explicitly take it off.

• Test the Scorebug trigger before kickoff to confirm your Theme Instance is loading correctly.

Common Issues

The Scorebug isn't appearing when I trigger it

• Check that a Theme Instance is assigned to the Match or Competition.

• Confirm the Control Room is connected to the correct Input.

• Make sure you're viewing the correct output (the Monitoring Link, not just the preview).

The score on the Scorebug isn't updating

• Confirm the Live Scorer is connected to the correct Match in the LiveScore App.

• Check that Match Facts are being recorded successfully.

The Scorebug disappeared unexpectedly

• Check that you haven't accidentally switched back to an Automated Game Plan, which may override your Manual Mode triggers.

• Confirm no other Graphic is configured to replace the Scorebug.

I can't find the Manual Mode option

• Your Match may be locked into an Automated Game Plan. Check your Game Plan settings for the Competition.
