Updating the period or half on the Scorebug lets you keep the live score graphic accurate as a Match progresses through its stages (for example, moving from first half to half time, or advancing between quarters).
Overview
The Scorebug displays the current period or half alongside the score and clock. In the Control Room, you can advance or change this value manually, so viewers always see the correct stage of the Match on screen.

2. Open the Production Link to launch the Control Room.

Step 3: Advance or Change the Period
1. Select the period or half control.
2. Choose the correct stage for your Match (for example, 1st Half, Half Time, 2nd Half, Full Time, or the relevant quarter/period for your sport).
3. Confirm the change.
The Scorebug will update on the live output to reflect the new period.
Step 4: Verify the Scorebug Output
• Check the Control Room preview or your Monitoring Link to confirm the period label has updated correctly.
• Make sure the Match clock matches the new stage (for example, reset or paused as appropriate).
Tips
• Change the period promptly at each Match stage transition so viewers see accurate information.
• If you are running an Automated Game Plan, period changes may also trigger playlists such as half-time sponsor graphics — check your Game Plan to see what will play.
• Use the Monitoring Link on a second screen to watch the Scorebug output while you operate.
• For sports with more than two stages (for example, quarters in basketball or AFL), confirm the Theme Instance is configured for the correct number of periods.
Common Issues
The Scorebug still shows the previous period
• Refresh the Control Room or check that the change was confirmed.
• Verify the Scorebug is live on the output and not hidden.
Period options do not match my sport
• The available periods are defined by the Theme Instance assigned to the Competition. Check with your Admin if the stages are incorrect.
Clock did not reset when changing period
• The clock and period are controlled separately. Reset or adjust the clock manually after changing the period.
Live Scorer and Control Room are out of sync
• If match events are being captured in the LiveScore App, confirm the scorer has also advanced the period so Match Facts align with the Scorebug.
