Troubleshooting Graphics Not Appearing

Written by Julian Rodrigues
Updated today

When graphics fail to appear in the Control Room or on your output stream, it usually points to a configuration issue with your Theme Instance, Game Plan, Input, or overlay settings. This guide walks you through the most common causes and how to resolve them.

Before You Start

Make sure you have:

• A Match created under a Competition

• A Theme Instance assigned to the Competition

• Access to the Control Room via a Production Link

• An Input connected if you are monitoring graphics on top of a video feed

Check the Control Room Is Loaded Correctly

The first step is confirming you are in the right place and the Control Room has loaded fully.

1. Open the Match from the Matches list.

2. Click the Production Link to open the Control Room.

3. Wait for the interface to fully load — graphics panels, Playlists, and the preview window should all appear.

4. If the page looks blank or incomplete, refresh your browser.

Production Link vs. Monitoring Link

If you opened a Monitoring Link instead of a Production Link, you will be able to see graphics output but not trigger them. Make sure you are using the Production Link if you need control access.

Confirm a Theme Instance Is Assigned

Graphics will not render without a Theme Instance assigned to the Competition.

1. Go to the Competition settings.

2. Check that a Theme Instance is selected.

3. If none is assigned, select or create one and save.

4. Reload the Control Room.

Check Your Game Plan Setup

If you are using an Automated Game Plan, the wrong configuration can prevent graphics from firing.

1. Open the Game Plan for the Match.

2. Confirm the graphics you expect to see are included in the relevant Playlists.

3. Check the trigger rules — for example, a goal-triggered Playlist will only fire when a goal Match Fact is recorded.

4. Confirm the Game Plan is active for the Match.

Manual Mode

If the Match is set to Manual Mode, graphics will only appear when you trigger them from the Control Room. Nothing will fire automatically from match events.

Check the Output and Input Settings

If graphics appear in the Control Room preview but not on your stream, the issue is likely downstream.

• Confirm your encoder (OBS, vMix, or hardware) is pulling the correct NDI or stream output from LIGR.

• Check that the Input is connected and active in the Streaming tab.

• Confirm your Destination is receiving the stream correctly.

Check Individual Graphics

Sometimes only one Graphic or Scorebug is missing rather than all of them.

1. In the Control Room, locate the specific Graphic in the graphics panel.

2. Trigger it manually to see if it appears in the preview.

3. If it fails to render, the issue may be with the Theme Instance configuration or the underlying FUSE template.

4. Check whether the Graphic relies on data (such as player names or scores) that has not been entered for the Match.

Tips

• Always open the Control Room in a modern browser like Chrome for best compatibility.

• Keep the Control Room tab focused and avoid putting your browser to sleep during a live Match.

• If a Scorebug is missing, check that both Teams are assigned to the Match.

• If a lower third for a player is blank, confirm the Player has been added to the Team roster.

• Use the Monitoring Link on a second screen or device to confirm what is actually being output.

Common Issues

Graphics appear in preview but not on stream Your encoder is not pulling the correct NDI or RTMP output. Re-check your Input settings in the encoder and in the Streaming tab.

Automated graphics never fire The Match may be in Manual Mode, or the Game Plan may not be assigned. Check both in the Match settings.

Only sponsor graphics are missing Check that an Ad Set has been allocated to the Competition or Team, and that the Sponsor Loop is configured in the Game Plan.

Scorebug shows incorrect or missing data The LiveScore App may not be connected, or Match Facts have not been recorded. Confirm the Live Scorer is logged in and capturing events.

Graphics stopped appearing mid-Match Refresh the Control Room. If the issue persists, check the Input connection and stream health in the Streaming tab.

Custom FUSE graphic not rendering A Control Variable may be missing a value, or the template may reference data that is not available for the Match.
