How to Monitor Stream Health

Monitoring stream health in LIGR Live lets you verify that your live streams are running correctly, check their quality, and spot issues before they affect your broadcast.

Why Monitor Stream Health

Keeping an eye on stream health during a match helps you catch problems early. A dropped Input, a failing Destination, or a low bitrate can disrupt your broadcast, and the Streaming section gives you the tools to see what's happening in real time.

You'll want to monitor stream health when:

• A match is live and you need to confirm everything is broadcasting correctly

• You're running multiple matches at once and need to watch them simultaneously

• You suspect an issue with your encoder, Input, or Destination

• You want to verify that graphics and Overlays are appearing as expected

Where to Monitor Streams

There are two main places to check stream health in LIGR Live:

The Streaming tab — Use this for monitoring multiple streams at once via Multiview

Individual match Stream View pages — Use this to focus on a specific match's stream details

Using the Streaming Tab

The Streaming tab is your central monitoring view. From here you can see all active streams across your Organisation in one place.

1. Click the Streaming tab in the left sidebar.

2. Review the list of active streams to see which matches are currently live.

3. Open Multiview to watch multiple streams simultaneously in a single grid.

4. Check each stream preview to confirm video is flowing and graphics are rendering.

Using a Match Stream View

For a closer look at a single match, open its Stream View page.

1. Go to the Matches tab and select the match you want to check.

2. Open the Stream View for that match.

3. Review the Input status to confirm your encoder is connected.

4. Check the Destination status to confirm the stream is reaching YouTube, Facebook, or your RTMP endpoint.

5. Watch the live preview to verify video, audio, and Overlays.

What to Look For

When monitoring, check these key indicators:

Input connection — Confirm your encoder (OBS, vMix, or hardware) is sending video into LIGR

Destination status — Confirm the outgoing stream is reaching each Destination

Bitrate — A stable bitrate indicates a healthy connection

Preview video — Visual confirmation that the stream looks correct

Overlay rendering — Scorebugs and other Graphics should appear as expected

Tips

• Keep the Streaming tab open in a second browser window during match day so you can glance at stream health without leaving the Control Room.

• If you're running multiple matches, use Multiview to watch them all at once rather than switching between tabs.

• Always test your Input and Destination before going live so you know what a healthy stream looks like.

• Share the Monitoring Link with team members who need to watch the output without control access.

Common Issues

Stream preview is black or frozen Check that your encoder is still sending video to the Input. Restart the encoder if needed and confirm the RTMP or NDI connection.

Destination shows an error Verify your streaming keys and URLs for the Destination (YouTube, Facebook, or RTMP endpoint). Re-enter them if necessary.

Bitrate is unstable or very low This usually points to a network issue on the encoder side. Check the upload connection at your streaming location.

Overlays are not appearing in the stream Open the Control Room for that match and confirm the correct Theme Instance and Game Plan are loaded.

Multiview not showing all streams Refresh the Streaming tab. If a stream is still missing, open its individual Stream View to check its status.
