How to Stream to Facebook Live

Sending a live video feed from LIGR Live to Facebook Live lets you broadcast your match, complete with overlays and graphics, directly to your Facebook page or profile.

Overview

To stream to Facebook Live from LIGR Live, you'll configure Facebook Live as a Destination for your match. LIGR Live takes your Input (the video feed from your encoder) combined with your overlays, and forwards it to Facebook Live using RTMP.

This guide covers:

• Getting your Facebook Live stream details

• Adding Facebook Live as a Destination in LIGR Live

• Starting and monitoring the stream

Prerequisites

Before you begin, make sure you have:

• A match created in the Matches section

• An Input configured and connected (for example, from OBS or vMix)

• Admin access to the Facebook page or profile you want to stream to

• Your overlays and Game Plan set up for the match

Step 1: Get Your Facebook Live Stream Details

Facebook Live provides an RTMP URL and a stream key that LIGR Live needs to send video to the correct destination.

1. Log in to Facebook and go to Facebook Live Producer (facebook.com/live/producer).

2. Select Go Live.

3. Choose where the stream will publish (your profile, page, or group).

4. Under streaming setup, select Streaming Software as the source.

5. Copy the Server URL and Stream Key shown on screen.

Keep this tab open — you'll need these values in the next step, and Facebook may require you to keep the setup active until your stream starts.

Step 2: Add Facebook Live as a Destination in LIGR Live

1. Go to the Matches tab in the left sidebar.

2. Open the match you want to stream.

3. Navigate to the Streaming tab for that match.

4. Under Destinations, select Add Destination.

5. Choose RTMP as the destination type (Facebook Live is received via RTMP).

6. Enter the following:

Name: Something recognisable, e.g. "Facebook Live"

RTMP URL: Paste the Server URL from Facebook

Stream Key: Paste the Stream Key from Facebook

1. Save the Destination.

Step 3: Start Streaming

1. Make sure your Input is connected and showing a healthy signal.

2. In the Streaming tab, start the stream to your Facebook Live Destination.

3. Return to Facebook Live Producer — you should see a preview of your feed within a few seconds.

4. Once the preview looks correct, click Go Live in Facebook Live Producer.

Step 4: Monitor the Stream

Use the Streaming tab and Multiview to confirm everything looks right during the match.

• Check the Input status to confirm your encoder is still connected

• Confirm your overlays are rendering correctly via the Control Room or Monitoring Link

• Watch the stream directly on Facebook to verify delivery

Step 5: End the Stream

1. Stop the stream from the Streaming tab in LIGR Live.

2. In Facebook Live Producer, click End Live Video.

3. Your recording will be saved to Facebook automatically. Your match recording will also be available in LIGR Live for Highlights, Moments, and Compilations.

Tips

• Create the Destination well before kick-off so you can test the connection early.

• Facebook stream keys can be single-use. If you stop and restart the stream, you may need to generate a new key.

• Use a persistent stream key (available in Facebook Live Producer settings) if you stream regularly.

• Keep an eye on your Input health throughout the match — if the encoder drops, the Facebook stream will drop too.

Common Issues

Stream not appearing on Facebook: Double-check the Server URL and Stream Key are copied exactly, with no extra spaces.

Stream starts then drops: Check your encoder's upload bandwidth and confirm the Input is stable in LIGR Live.

Overlays not showing on Facebook: Confirm your Game Plan is running and overlays are visible in the Control Room — if they show there, they will be baked into the outgoing stream.

"Stream key in use" error: The previous stream session hasn't fully ended on Facebook's side. Wait 30–60 seconds or generate a new key.
