How to Duplicate a Match

Duplicating a Match in LIGR Live lets you quickly create a new fixture that reuses the settings of an existing one, saving time when you run recurring matches within the same Competition.

When to Duplicate a Match

Duplicating is useful when you have already configured a Match with specific overlay settings, Theme Instance, and stream setup, and want to replicate that configuration for a new fixture. Instead of building the new Match from scratch, you copy the existing one and adjust only the details that change — such as teams, date, time, or venue.

Common scenarios include:

• Running weekly fixtures in the same Competition

• Setting up multiple Matches on the same match day with similar configurations

• Creating a test Match based on a known working setup

• Rolling out a templated Match across several Teams

Before You Start

Make sure you have:

• An existing Match in your Organisation that you want to duplicate

• Permission to create Matches (Owner, Admin, User, or Gameday Operator role)

• The required Assets already created (Competitions, Clubs, Teams, Venues) if you plan to change any of them in the duplicated Match

How to Duplicate a Match

1. Click the Matches tab in the left sidebar.

2. Locate the Match you want to duplicate in the Matches list.

3. Open the Match actions menu next to the Match.

4. Select Duplicate.

5. A new Match will be created using the same configuration as the original.

Updating the Duplicated Match

Once duplicated, open the new Match and review its settings before going live. Key areas to check:

Teams — Update the home and away Teams if the fixture is different

Date and time — Set the correct kickoff time

Venue — Change if the Match is played at a different location

Competition — Confirm the Match is assigned to the correct Competition

Theme Instance — Verify the correct Theme Instance is applied

Overlay settings — Check any Match-specific overlay configuration

Stream setup — Update Inputs and Destinations if they differ from the original

Tips

• Duplicate a fully configured Match from earlier in the season as a template for every new fixture in the same Competition.

• Rename the duplicated Match straight away so it is easy to identify in the Matches list.

• If you use the same Production Link or Monitoring Link workflow, remember that the duplicated Match will have its own unique links.

• Double-check the Automated Game Plan and Playlists are still appropriate for the new fixture.

Common Issues

Teams or Competition missing from the duplicate — Make sure the original Match had these set correctly. If any referenced Asset has been deleted, you will need to reassign it.

Stream settings not working as expected — Inputs and Destinations may need to be reconfigured for the new Match, especially if you stream from different encoders.

Wrong Theme Instance applied — If you changed the Theme Instance on the original Match after duplication, the new Match keeps the original settings at the time of duplication. Update it manually if needed.

Duplicate option not visible — Confirm your user role has permission to create Matches.
