Duplicating a Theme Instance

Duplicating a Theme Instance lets you quickly create a new configuration based on an existing one, so you can reuse its setup across different Competitions without starting from scratch.

What Is a Theme Instance?

A Theme is platform-level and built by the LIGR team. Once a Theme is assigned to your Organisation, you create Theme Instances from it. A Theme Instance is a customer-level configuration of a Theme, assigned at the Competition overlay level under Competition > Settings > Streams and Overlays > Overlay Settings.

A Competition can have multiple overlays, and each overlay can use its own Theme Instance paired with its own Game Plan. This means you can run different graphic configurations in parallel for the same Competition (for example, a primary broadcast overlay and a secondary overlay for a different output).

Duplicating a Theme Instance is useful when you want to:

• Reuse a configuration across multiple Competitions with only minor changes

• Create a variation of an existing setup for a different season or tournament

• Test adjustments without altering your original configuration

Before You Start

Make sure you have:

• An existing Theme Instance already set up in your Organisation

• Admin or Owner permissions to manage Theme Instances

• The Competition and overlay you want to apply the duplicated Theme Instance to (if different from the original)

How to Duplicate a Theme Instance

1. From the main navigation, open the Themes section.

2. Locate the Theme Instance you want to duplicate in the list.

3. Click the options menu on the Theme Instance.

4. Select Duplicate.

5. Enter a new name for the duplicated Theme Instance so it is easy to identify.

6. Confirm to create the copy.

The new Theme Instance will appear in your Themes list, carrying over the configuration from the original.

Assigning the Duplicate to a Competition Overlay

Once duplicated, assign the new Theme Instance to a Competition overlay:

1. Open the Competition you want to use the duplicate in.

2. Go to Settings > Streams and Overlays > Overlay Settings.

3. Select the overlay you want to configure (or add a new overlay).

4. Assign the duplicated Theme Instance to that overlay, alongside the Game Plan you want to pair with it.

5. Save your changes.

Making Adjustments

After duplicating, review and update the Theme Instance as needed:

• Update team colours or branding tied to the new Competition

• Adjust any configuration values that differ from the original

• Review graphic settings to confirm they suit the new context

Tips

• Give your duplicated Theme Instance a clear, descriptive name that includes the Competition or season so it is easy to find.

• Duplicate before making major changes. It is a safe way to experiment without affecting your live setup.

• If you manage multiple similar Competitions, maintain a "template" Theme Instance that you duplicate from each time.

• Remember that a single Competition can host multiple overlays, each with its own Theme Instance, so duplicates can also be used side by side within one Competition.

Common Issues

The duplicated Theme Instance looks different from the original Check that all configuration values and assigned assets have carried over. Some Competition-specific data (such as team branding or ad assignments) may need to be reassigned manually.

Changes to the duplicate are affecting the original Confirm you are editing the duplicated Theme Instance and not the original. The name in the header should match the new Theme Instance you created.

Cannot find the Duplicate option You may not have the required permissions. Contact your Organisation Owner or Admin to confirm your access level.
