How to Edit Match Details

Written by Julian Rodrigues
Updated today

Editing match details in LIGR Live lets you update core information about a match — such as teams, venue, kick-off time, and competition — after the match has been created.

When You'd Edit a Match

You might need to edit match details when:

• A match time or date changes

• The venue is updated

• A team lineup needs adjusting

• You need to change the competition or theme instance assigned

• Overlay or stream settings need updating before going live

Before You Start

Make sure:

• The match has already been created in the Matches section

• You have the right permissions (Owner, Admin, User, or Gameday Operator)

• Any new assets you want to assign (teams, venues, players) already exist in the Assets tab

How to Access Match Details

1. Click the Matches tab in the left sidebar.

2. Find the match you want to edit in the list.

3. Click the match to open its settings page.

Editing Core Match Information

Once you're on the match settings page, you can update the main details of the match.

Update Match Basics

1. Locate the match details section at the top of the page.

2. Edit any of the following fields:

• Competition

• Home team and away team

• Venue

• Match date and kick-off time

1. Save your changes.

Update Teams and Lineups

1. Scroll to the teams section of the match.

2. Adjust the home and away team selections if needed.

3. Update lineups by adding or removing players from each team's roster for this match.

Lineups pull from the players already assigned to each team in the Assets tab. If a player is missing, add them to the team first under Assets.

Updating Overlay and Theme Settings

Match-level overlay settings let you fine-tune how graphics appear for this specific match.

1. Open the overlay settings area within the match.

2. Confirm the theme instance assigned to the match.

3. Adjust any match-specific overlay options as needed.

Updating Stream Settings

If your stream inputs or destinations need to change:

1. Open the streaming section of the match.

2. Update the input source or destination as required.

3. Save your changes before the match goes live.

Tips

• Make edits before the match goes live whenever possible. Changes made mid-match can affect scorebugs and overlays already on screen.

• If you change the competition, double-check that the correct theme instance is applied — themes are tied to competitions.

• Keep the LiveScore App open on the scorer's device after editing lineups so any roster changes are reflected.

• Use the Production Link to preview overlays after making changes to confirm everything displays correctly.

Common Issues

Changes aren't appearing in the Control Room: Refresh the Control Room after saving. Some updates require a reload to take effect.

A team or player isn't available to select: The asset may not exist yet. Go to the Assets tab and create or update the team, player, or venue first.

Theme looks wrong after editing: Check that the correct theme instance is assigned to the competition this match sits under.

Can't edit a match: Your user role may not allow it. Media Viewers and Live Scorers cannot edit match details — speak to an Owner or Admin.
