Editing Match Details Before Kick-off lets you update key information about a Match — such as teams, venue, kick-off time, or Theme Instance — after it has been created but before it goes live.
When to Edit Match Details
There are plenty of reasons you might need to update a Match after creating it:
• A team change or late line-up adjustment
• A venue change due to weather or scheduling
• A kick-off time update
• Assigning or swapping the Theme Instance
• Correcting a typo in the Match name or Competition assignment
Making these edits before kick-off ensures your Control Room, overlays, and Scorebug all reflect the correct information when the Match goes live.
Prerequisites
Before editing a Match, make sure:
• The Match has already been created under a Competition
• You have Owner, Admin, User, or Gameday Operator permissions
• The Match has not yet started (edits made after kick-off may behave differently)
How to Edit a Match
1. From the main navigation, go to the Matches tab.
2. Locate the Match you want to edit in the list. You can filter by Competition or date to find it faster.
3. Click on the Match to open its details page.

What You Can Edit
Depending on your Match setup, you can typically update:
• Match name — the label used throughout the platform
• Competition — the Competition the Match belongs to
• Home and Away Teams — swap or reassign Teams
• Venue — the physical location of the Match
• Kick-off date and time
• Theme Instance — the visual configuration applied to graphics
• Data Coverage level — from Minimum to Standard
Updating Teams
If you swap a Team, the new Team's players, logo, and colours will flow into the overlays and Scorebug automatically.
Updating the Theme Instance
Changing the Theme Instance updates the look and feel of all graphics for this Match, including the Scorebug, lower thirds, and full-screen graphics.

Tips
• Edit your Match as early as possible. Last-minute changes close to kick-off can affect operators already loaded into the Control Room.
• If an operator already has the Control Room open, ask them to refresh after you save changes so the latest details load.
• Double-check the Home and Away Team order — this controls which side they appear on in the Scorebug.
• If you are changing Teams, confirm their Players are up to date in the Assets tab so line-up graphics render correctly.
Common Issues
Changes aren't showing in the Control Room The Control Room may need to be refreshed. Close and reopen the Production Link to load the updated Match details.
Can't find the Match to edit Make sure you're looking under the correct Competition. Use the filter options in the Matches tab to narrow your search.
Team swap didn't update the Scorebug Confirm the new Team is assigned to the same Competition as the Match. Teams not assigned to the Competition may not render correctly in graphics.
Theme Instance option is missing The Competition must have a Theme Instance configured before it can be applied at the Match level. Check the Competition settings first.
