Assigning teams to a match in LIGR Live tells the platform which two sides are playing, so the correct team names, logos, colours, and player rosters appear in your overlays and graphics.
Before You Start
Before you can assign teams to a match, you need to have the following Assets already set up in your organisation:
• A Competition that the match will sit under
• At least two Teams (linked to their Clubs) available in your Assets
• Team details such as logos, colours, and player rosters filled in on each Team
If any of these are missing, head to the Assets tab first and create them before continuing.

Assigning Teams When Creating a New Match
Teams are assigned as part of the standard match creation workflow.
1. Click the Matches tab in the left sidebar.
2. Click the button to create a new match.
3. Select the Competition the match belongs to. Only teams linked to this competition will be available to select.
4. Choose the Home Team from the dropdown.
5. Choose the Away Team from the dropdown.
6. Fill in the remaining match details (date, time, Venue, etc.).
7. Save the match.
Once saved, the teams are locked into the match and their branding will flow through to your overlays, scorebug, and other graphics automatically.

Changing Teams on an Existing Match
If you need to update which teams are playing after a match has been created:
1. Go to the Matches tab.
2. Find the match in your list and open it.
3. Open the match settings.
4. Update the Home Team or Away Team selection.
5. Save your changes.
What Gets Updated Automatically
When you assign or change a team on a match, LIGR Live pulls in the following from that Team's Asset record:
• Team name and short name
• Team logo
• Team colours
• Player roster (used in lineups and player-based graphics)
• Club information
Tips
• Set up Teams fully in the Assets tab before creating matches. This saves you from editing each match individually to fix missing logos or players.
• Only Teams assigned to the selected Competition will appear in the Home Team and Away Team dropdowns. If a team is missing, check that it's been added to that Competition.
• Double-check which team is set as Home and which is Away before going live. This affects the side each team appears on in your scorebug and other overlays.
• If you're using the LiveScore App, confirm both teams are correctly assigned before the scorer opens the match.
Common Issues
A team I need isn't showing in the dropdown. The team likely isn't linked to the Competition you've selected. Go to the Competition in Assets and add the team, then return to the match.
The team logo or colours aren't appearing in graphics. Open the Team in the Assets tab and make sure the logo and colour fields are filled in. Graphics pull directly from the Team Asset.
Player names aren't showing in lineup graphics. Check the Team's player roster in Assets. Players must be added to the Team before they appear in match graphics.
I picked the wrong team and the match is already live. You can update the team on the match settings page, but changes during a live broadcast may require refreshing the Control Room for graphics to reflect the update.
