Managing Teams Within a Club

Written by Julian Rodrigues

Managing Teams within a Club lets you organise multiple Teams under a single Club in LIGR Live, so each Team inherits Club-level details like logos, colours, and venues while remaining independently assignable to Competitions and Matches.

Overview

In LIGR Live, a Club is the parent Asset that groups related Teams together. For example, a single Club might have a senior men's Team, a senior women's Team, and junior Teams — all sharing the same Club branding but competing in different Competitions.

Managing Teams within a Club keeps your Assets organised and ensures consistent branding across every Match.

Before You Start

Before adding Teams to a Club, make sure you have:

• A Club already created in your Organisation

• Club details configured (logo, colours, and home Venue if applicable)

• Appropriate permissions (Owner, Admin, or User)

Adding a Team to a Club

Follow these steps to create a new Team under an existing Club.

1. From the main navigation, go to Assets and select Clubs.

2. Find the Club you want to add a Team to and open it.

3. Within the Club page, locate the Teams section.

4. Click Add Team (or the equivalent create button).

5. Enter the Team details, including:

• Team name

• Age group or grade (e.g. Seniors, U18s)

• Gender category if applicable

• Team-specific logo or colours (optional — otherwise the Team inherits Club branding)

1. Save the Team.

The Team is now available to assign to Competitions and Matches.

Editing an Existing Team

You can update a Team's details at any time.

1. Open the parent Club from Assets > Clubs.

2. In the Teams section, click the Team you want to edit.

3. Update the required fields.

4. Save your changes.

Overriding Club Branding

By default, a Team uses the Club's logo and colours. If a specific Team needs its own visual identity:

• Upload a Team-specific logo

• Set Team-specific primary and secondary colours

These values will then be used in Overlays, Scorebugs, and other Graphics for that Team's Matches.

Assigning Teams to a Competition

Teams are created at the Club level but must be assigned to a Competition before they can play a Match.

1. Go to Assets > Competitions and open the relevant Competition.

2. Navigate to the Teams section of the Competition.

3. Add the Team from the Club.

4. Save your changes.

The Team is now eligible to be selected as the home or away side when creating a Match.

Managing Players Within a Team

Each Team has its own Player roster.

1. Open the Team from within its parent Club.

2. Go to the Players section of the Team.

3. Add Players individually or in bulk.

4. Assign jersey numbers, positions, and other Player details as required.

Players assigned to a Team will appear in lineup Graphics, Match Facts, and other data-driven Overlays during a Match.

Removing a Team

If a Team is no longer needed:

1. Open the Team from its Club.

2. Use the delete or archive option.

3. Confirm the action.

Removing a Team will affect any Matches or Competitions it is currently assigned to, so review those before deleting.

Tips

Use clear naming conventions — include the age group or grade in the Team name (e.g. "Eastside FC — U16 Boys") to make selection easier when creating Matches.

Keep Club branding consistent — only override Team logos and colours when a Team genuinely has its own identity.

Set up Players early — adding Players to Teams before Match day ensures lineup Graphics work correctly from the first Match.

Review Teams before a season starts — archive or remove old Teams to keep your Club page tidy.

Common Issues

A Team isn't appearing when I create a Match

• Confirm the Team has been assigned to the Competition the Match belongs to.

• Check that the Team hasn't been archived or deleted.

The Team is using the wrong logo or colours

• Open the Team and check whether Team-specific branding has been set. If not, the Team inherits Club branding — update the Club instead.

I can't edit a Team

• Confirm your user role. Gameday Operators and Live Scorers may not have permission to edit Club Assets.

Players aren't showing up in lineup Graphics

• Make sure Players are assigned to the correct Team, and that the Team is assigned to both the Competition and the Match.
