In LIGR Live, a Team is an Asset that represents a specific competing side within a Club, and is used to populate matches, graphics, and competition data.
Understanding Teams in LIGR Live
A Team is one of the core Assets in LIGR Live, alongside Competitions, Clubs, Players, Venues, and Image Templates. Teams are the entities that actually take the field in a Match — for example, "Under 15s Blue" or "First Grade Men's" — and they always sit underneath a parent Club.
When you create a Match, you select two Teams to compete against each other. Their names, logos, colours, and Player rosters then flow automatically into your Overlays, Scorebugs, and other Graphics during the broadcast.

How Teams Fit With Other Assets
Teams don't exist on their own. They sit within a clear structure:
• Club — The parent organisation (e.g. "Riverside FC"). Holds logos, colours, and default Venue.
• Team — A specific side within that Club (e.g. "Riverside FC U16s").
• Players — Individuals assigned to a Team's roster.
• Competition — Teams are assigned to Competitions so they can be selected when creating Matches.
• Match — Two Teams are chosen to play against each other.
What a Team Carries Into a Match
When a Team is selected for a Match, LIGR Live automatically pulls through:
• Team name and short name
• Club logo and Team-specific colours
• Assigned Players (for lineups, goal scorers, cards, and substitutions)
• Any Ad Sets allocated to the Team
• The Team's default Venue (if no Match Venue is set)

Creating a Team
Teams are created from the Assets area of your Organisation.
1. Open the Assets section from the main navigation.
2. Go to Clubs and select the Club this Team belongs to. If the Club doesn't exist yet, create it first.
3. Within the Club, select Teams and click Create Team (or the equivalent add option).
4. Enter the Team name and short name.
5. Confirm or override the Team's colours and logo (these can inherit from the Club).
6. Save the Team.
Once saved, the Team appears in the Teams list and can be assigned to Competitions and Matches.
Assigning a Team to a Competition
Before a Team can appear in a Match, it needs to be available in the relevant Competition.
1. Open the Competition from the Assets section.
2. Go to the Teams tab within that Competition.
3. Add the Team to the Competition.
4. Save your changes.
The Team is now selectable when creating a Match within that Competition.
Managing Players on a Team
A Team's roster drives Player-based Graphics such as lineups, goal events, and Match Facts recorded in the LiveScore App.
• Add Players from the Team's detail page.
• Assign jersey numbers and positions.
• Update the roster before each Match if players change.

Tips
• Keep Team names consistent with how they should appear on-air — Scorebugs and Overlays pull directly from this field.
• Use the short name field thoughtfully; it's often what displays on the Scorebug where space is tight.
• If two Teams share a clashing colour, adjust Team-specific colours rather than changing the Club's defaults.
• Set up Players well before Match day so your Automated Game Plan can trigger Graphics correctly when events are logged.
Common Issues
• Team doesn't appear when creating a Match: The Team likely hasn't been assigned to the Competition. Add it via the Competition's Teams tab.
• Wrong colours on Graphics: Check the Team's colour settings — Team-level colours override Club defaults in a Match.
• Players missing in the LiveScore App: Confirm Players are added to the Team's roster and that the roster has been saved before Match start.
• Logo not showing on Overlays: Ensure the Club logo is uploaded at the Club level, or add a Team-specific logo if needed.
