Assigning Ad Sets to a Match

Written by Julian Rodrigues

Assigning Ad Sets to a match lets you control which sponsor and advertising images appear in your broadcast graphics for that specific fixture.

What Is an Ad Set?

An Ad Set is a collection of sponsor or advertising images that can be allocated to competitions, teams, clubs, or individual matches. Once allocated, the images can appear inside graphics (such as scorebugs and lower thirds) or as detached sponsor loops between events.

Before You Start

Make sure you have the following in place:

• At least one Ad Set already created in your Organisation

• A Competition set up with a Theme Instance that supports sponsor placements

• A Match created under that Competition

• The correct permission level (Owner, Admin, or User)

Assigning an Ad Set to a Match

You can allocate an Ad Set directly to a match so it only runs for that fixture, overriding or supplementing what is inherited from the Competition, Club, or Team.

1. Open the Matches tab and select the match you want to edit.

2. Navigate to the Ads or Allocation section within the match settings.

3. Review the Ad Sets already inherited from the Competition, Clubs, or Teams involved in the match.

4. Click Add Ad Set to allocate an additional Ad Set to this match.

5. Choose the Ad Set from the list of available options.

6. Confirm the allocation to save your changes.

Understanding Allocation Levels

Ad Sets can be allocated at different levels, and all allocations apply to the match together:

Competition level — applies to every match in the Competition

Club level — applies when that Club's Team is playing

Team level — applies when that specific Team is playing

Match level — applies only to the individual match

Match-level allocations are useful for one-off sponsors, special rounds, or finals where you want different advertising to the regular season.

How Ad Sets Appear in the Broadcast

Once allocated, Ad Sets are used by your graphics in two ways:

In-graphic ads — sponsor logos that appear inside graphics like scorebugs or lower thirds

Detached ads — full sponsor graphics that play as a Sponsor Loop or on time and event triggers, controlled by your Automated Game Plan

Tips

• Allocate recurring sponsors at the Competition level so you do not have to add them to every match.

• Use match-level Ad Sets for finals, special rounds, or one-match sponsorship deals.

• Check the match preview in the Control Room before going live to confirm the correct sponsors are appearing.

• Keep your Ad Set names clear (e.g. "Round 12 Sponsors") so operators can identify them quickly.

Common Issues

Ad Set not appearing in the graphics: Confirm the Theme Instance for the Competition includes sponsor placements, and that the Automated Game Plan has triggers set up for detached ads.

Wrong sponsors showing: Check allocations at every level (Competition, Club, Team, Match) — inherited Ad Sets may be overriding what you expect.

Ad Set missing from the selection list: Make sure the Ad Set has been created and published in the Assets area of your Organisation.

Club-delegated ads not showing: Verify the Club has allocated their Ad Set through the Club Portal and that delegation is enabled for the Competition.
