Creating a Match in Manual Mode

Written by Julian Rodrigues

Creating a match in Manual Mode lets you run a fixture in LIGR Live where every graphic is triggered by an operator in the Control Room, rather than playing automatically based on match events.

When to Use Manual Mode

Manual Mode is the right choice when you want full control over what appears on screen and when. It's useful for:

• Productions without a Live Scorer using the LiveScore App

• Broadcasts where you want to trigger each Overlay yourself

• Matches where you don't want an Automated Game Plan running

• Training, test streams, or one-off productions

If you'd prefer graphics to play automatically based on Match Facts, you should set up an Automated Game Plan instead.

Prerequisites

Before you create your match, make sure you have the following Assets ready:

• A Competition set up with a Theme Instance assigned

• Two Teams (with their parent Clubs) created and assigned to the Competition

• A Venue (optional but recommended)

• Player rosters added to each Team if you want lineup graphics

If any of these are missing, head to the Assets tab and create them first.

Creating the Match

Step 1: Open the Matches Section

1. From the main navigation, go to the Matches tab.

2. Click Create Match (or the equivalent new match button).

Step 2: Select the Competition

1. Choose the Competition this match belongs to from the dropdown.

2. The Theme Instance assigned to that Competition will automatically apply to the match graphics.

Step 3: Assign the Teams

1. Select the Home Team.

2. Select the Away Team.

3. Confirm the team logos, colours, and rosters look correct.

Step 4: Set the Match Details

Fill in the match information:

Match date and kickoff time

Venue

Match name or round (if applicable)

Step 5: Choose Manual Mode

This is the key step for this workflow.

1. In the match settings, find the Game Plan or automation option.

2. Set the match to Manual Mode rather than using an Automated Game Plan.

3. This ensures no graphics or Playlists will trigger automatically — everything will be operator-driven from the Control Room.

Step 6: Save the Match

Click Save (or Create) to finalise the match. It will now appear in your Matches list and is ready to be operated.

Operating the Match

Once your match is created in Manual Mode:

1. Open the match from the Matches tab.

2. Use the Production Link to launch the Control Room.

3. From the Control Room, manually trigger each Overlay, Scorebug, and Graphic as needed during the broadcast.

4. Share the Monitoring Link with anyone who needs to watch the graphics output without control access.

Tips

Prepare your graphics list in advance. In Manual Mode, you're responsible for timing every Overlay, so know which Graphics you plan to use and when.

Use a Sponsor Loop to automate advertising even when the rest of the match is manual — this takes pressure off the operator between key moments.

Test the Production Link before going live to confirm the Theme Instance has loaded and all Team data is correct.

Consider a Live Scorer anyway. Even in Manual Mode, having someone record Match Facts in the LiveScore App means your Review Page and Match Centre will still have accurate data.

Common Issues

Graphics are playing automatically when they shouldn't be. Double-check the match is set to Manual Mode and not linked to an Automated Game Plan.

Team logos or colours look wrong. Go back to the Assets tab and check the Club setup for the affected Team.

Theme doesn't appear correct in the Control Room. Confirm the Theme Instance is assigned at the Competition level before the match was created.

No players in lineup graphics. Make sure Players have been added to each Team's roster in the Assets tab.
