How to Allocate Ad Sets to Teams

Written by Julian Rodrigues

Allocating Ad Sets to Teams in LIGR Live lets you assign specific sponsor or advertising images to a Team so those ads appear during matches that Team plays in.

Which Ad System This Applies To

LIGR Live supports two advertising systems that run in parallel, and the right one for you depends on the Theme assigned to your organisation:

• Ad Allocation (covered in this article) is used by organisations on inbuilt themes. Ad Sets are allocated to Competitions, Clubs, or Teams, and rotation is handled by the system.

• Playlist-based ads are used by organisations on Rive themes. Ads are configured directly inside Automated Game Plan playlists rather than through the Allocation tab.

If your organisation is on a Rive theme, you will manage Team-related ads through your Game Plan playlists instead of the steps below. If you are on an inbuilt theme, continue with this guide.

What Team-Level Allocation Does

When you allocate an Ad Set to a Team, the ads in that set will be eligible to play during any Match that Team is part of. This is useful when you have Team-specific sponsors that should only appear when that Team is on screen, rather than being tied to an entire Competition.

• Team Ad Sets run alongside Competition-level Ad Sets

• Ads can be triggered by time or by Match events, depending on how the Ad Set is configured

• Team allocations follow the Team wherever it plays

Prerequisites

Before you allocate an Ad Set to a Team, make sure you have:

• An existing Team created under the Assets tab

• At least one Ad Set built with the sponsor images you want to use

• Permission to manage Ads (Owner, Admin, or equivalent role)

• An inbuilt theme assigned to your organisation (Team-level Ad Allocation does not apply to Rive themes)

Allocating an Ad Set to a Team

Follow these steps to assign an Ad Set to a specific Team.

1. Open the Ads section from the main navigation.

2. Go to the Allocation tab.

3. Choose Team as the allocation type.

4. Select the Team you want to allocate ads to from the list.

5. Choose the Ad Set you want to assign.

6. Confirm the allocation to save your changes.

Reviewing and Managing Team Allocations

Once an Ad Set is allocated, you can review and adjust it at any time.

• Open the Allocation tab to see all current Team allocations

• Remove an allocation if the sponsorship ends or changes

• Allocate the same Ad Set to multiple Teams if needed

• Allocate multiple Ad Sets to a single Team to combine sponsor groups

Tips

• Keep Ad Sets organised by sponsor or campaign so Team allocation stays clear.

• If an ad should appear for every Match in a league, allocate it at the Competition level instead of the Team level.

• For clubs that manage their own sponsors, consider delegating ad management through the Club Portal rather than allocating at the Team level manually.

• Review your allocation before a Match goes live to confirm the correct Ad Sets are assigned to the Teams playing.

Common Issues

Allocated ads are not appearing during a Match

• Check that the Match includes the Team you allocated the Ad Set to.

• Confirm the Ad Set has active images and valid trigger settings.

• Make sure the Game Plan for the Match allows ads to play.

• Confirm the Competition overlay is using an inbuilt theme. Team-level Ad Allocation does not drive ads on Rive themes, where ads are handled through playlists.

Wrong ads showing for a Team

• Review the Allocation tab to confirm which Ad Sets are assigned to that Team.

• Check if a Competition-level Ad Set is overlapping with your Team-level allocation.

Team not appearing in the allocation list

• Confirm the Team exists under the Assets tab.

• Make sure you have the correct permissions to view and manage that Team.
