How to Edit an Ad Template

Written by Julian Rodrigues
Updated today

Editing an Ad Template in LIGR Live lets you update the sponsor or advertising imagery used within an Ad Set so your graphics always display the most current creative during a match.

Ad Templates and Ad Sets are part of the Ad Allocation system, which is used by organisations on inbuilt themes. If your organisation is using Rive themes, ads are configured directly within Automated Game Plan playlists rather than through Ad Templates. Check which theme type is assigned to your Competition overlays to confirm which system applies to you.

Before You Start

Before editing an Ad Template, make sure you have:

• Admin or Owner access to your Organisation (or appropriate Ad management permissions)

• The updated image assets ready to upload

• Knowledge of which Ad Set the template belongs to

• Confirmation that your organisation is using inbuilt themes (Ad Templates apply to the Ad Allocation system)

Tips

• Use high-resolution images that match the aspect ratio expected by the template to avoid cropping or scaling issues.

• Give your Ad Templates clear, descriptive names (for example, sponsor name and campaign period) to make allocation easier later.

• Preview your changes before saving to confirm the imagery displays as intended.

• If the template is used across multiple Ad Sets, remember that your edits will apply everywhere it is assigned.

Common Issues

My updated image isn't showing during a match Reload the match session. Cached versions of the previous image may still be loaded in an active session.

The image looks stretched or cropped Check that your uploaded file matches the required dimensions for the template. Re-export the image at the correct aspect ratio and re-upload.

I can't see the edit option Confirm your user role has permission to manage Ads. Only Owners, Admins, and users with Ad management access can edit Ad Templates.

Changes aren't reflecting in allocated competitions Ensure the Ad Set containing the template is still correctly allocated to the Competition, Team, or Club. Review your Allocations if the ads aren't appearing during a match.

I don't see Ad Templates as an option for my ads If your organisation is using Rive themes, ads are managed through playlists within your Automated Game Plan rather than through Ad Templates and Ad Sets. Refer to the playlist-based ads guidance for configuring sponsor content on Rive themes.
