Ad Templates in LIGR Live let you design reusable sponsor and advertising graphics that can be grouped into Ad Sets and displayed during matches. This article applies to organisations using inbuilt themes with the Ad Allocation system. If your organisation is on a Rive theme, ads are configured directly within Automated Game Plan playlists rather than through Ad Templates and Ad Sets.
What Are Ad Templates?
An Ad Template is a pre-designed graphic layout used to display sponsor content, promotions, or advertising messages during a broadcast. Once created, templates can be added to Ad Sets and allocated to Competitions, Teams, or Clubs.
Ad Templates typically fall into two categories:
• In-graphic ads: Sponsor content displayed within another graphic, such as a logo slot inside a Lower Third.
• Detached ads: Full-screen or standalone sponsor graphics that play independently between events, often as part of a Sponsor Loop.

Which System Applies to You?
LIGR Live supports two advertising systems that run in parallel:
• Ad Allocation (for organisations using inbuilt themes): Ad Templates are grouped into Ad Sets and allocated to Competitions, Clubs, or Teams. Rotation is handled by the system. This article covers this workflow.
• Playlist-based ads (for organisations using Rive themes): Ads are configured directly inside Automated Game Plan playlists, not through Ad Templates.
If you are not sure which applies, check the theme type assigned to your Competition's overlay in Competition, Settings, Streams and Overlays, Overlay Settings.
Prerequisites
Before creating or managing Ad Templates, make sure you have:
• An active LIGR Live Organisation account
• Admin or Owner permissions (standard Users may have limited access)
• Sponsor artwork or image assets ready to upload
• At least one Competition set up if you plan to allocate ads immediately
• A Competition using an inbuilt theme (Ad Templates are part of the Ad Allocation system)

1. Log in to your LIGR Live Organisation.
2. Navigate to the Ads section from the main menu.

3. Select the template type or layout that matches how the ad will appear on screen.

Editing an Existing Ad Template
1. Go to Ads, then Ad Templates.
2. Locate the template you want to update.
3. Click the template name or the edit icon.
4. Update the name, artwork, or settings as needed.
5. Click Save to apply your changes.
Any Ad Sets that use this template will reflect the updated content the next time they are triggered.
Deleting an Ad Template
1. Open the Ad Templates page.
2. Find the template you no longer need.
3. Click the delete icon next to the template.
4. Confirm the deletion when prompted.
Deleting a template removes it from any Ad Sets where it is currently included, so review your allocations before removing it.
Using Ad Templates in Ad Sets
Ad Templates on their own do not play during a match. To use them:
1. Create or open an Ad Set.
2. Add the Ad Template to the Ad Set.
3. Set the order, timing, or triggers for when it should appear.
4. Allocate the Ad Set to a Competition, Team, or Club.
Once allocated, the template will play according to the rules set in the Game Plan or Sponsor Loop.

Tips
• Use clear, consistent naming conventions so templates are easy to find in large libraries.
• Keep artwork sized to the recommended dimensions for each template type to avoid stretching or cropping.
• Create separate templates for different sponsor tiers or campaigns to make allocation easier.
• Test new templates on a practice match before using them in a live broadcast.
• Group related templates into a single Ad Set to simplify allocation across multiple Competitions.
Common Issues
• Template not appearing in Ad Set: Make sure the template was saved successfully and that you are editing the correct Ad Set.
• Artwork looks distorted: Check that your uploaded image matches the required aspect ratio and resolution for the template type.
• Ad not playing during a match: Confirm the Ad Set containing the template is allocated to the Competition or Team, and that the Game Plan includes the correct triggers. Also confirm the Competition's overlay is using an inbuilt theme, since Ad Templates do not apply to Rive theme overlays.
• Cannot edit or delete a template: Your user role may not have sufficient permissions. Contact your Organisation Owner or Admin.
• Changes not reflecting live: Refresh the match session or restart the Sponsor Loop to pick up the latest template updates.
