Ad Templates in LIGR Live let you design reusable sponsor and advertising graphics that can be added to Ad Sets and displayed during matches.
Which Advertising System Applies to You
LIGR Live supports two advertising systems that run in parallel. The one you use depends on the type of Theme assigned to your organisation:
• Ad Allocation (Ad Templates and Ad Sets): used by organisations on inbuilt themes. Ad Sets are allocated to Competitions, Clubs, or Teams, and rotation is handled by the system.
• Playlist-based ads: used by organisations on Rive themes. Ads are configured directly inside Automated Game Plan playlists rather than through Ad Templates and Ad Sets.
This article covers creating an Ad Template, which is part of the Ad Allocation system. If your organisation uses Rive themes, you will configure ads in your Automated Game Plan playlists instead.
What Is an Ad Template
An Ad Template is a pre-designed graphic layout used for sponsor or advertising content. Once created, it can be added to an Ad Set and allocated to competitions, teams, or clubs so it plays during matches as part of your graphics output.
Ad Templates are typically used for:
• Full-screen sponsor graphics
• In-graphic sponsor placements (logos within lower thirds or other on-screen graphics)
• Sponsor Loops between match events
• Detached ad breaks during natural pauses
Before You Start
Before creating an Ad Template, make sure you have:
• Owner, Admin, or User access to your Organisation
• An inbuilt theme assigned to your organisation (Ad Templates apply to the Ad Allocation system)
• Your sponsor artwork ready (logos or images in the correct dimensions)
• An understanding of where the ad will appear (in-graphic versus full-screen)
Creating an Ad Template
Follow these steps to create a new Ad Template in your Organisation.
Step 1: Open the Ads Section
1. Log in to LIGR Live.
2. From the main navigation, go to the Ads section.
3. Select Ad Templates.

Step 2: Start a New Ad Template
1. Click Create Ad Template (or the equivalent "+" button on the Ad Templates page).
2. Give your Ad Template a clear, descriptive name (for example, "Full-Screen Sponsor 16:9").
Step 3: Choose the Template Type
Select the type of Ad Template that matches how the ad will be used:
• In-graphic: appears inside another graphic, such as a sponsor logo inside a lower third
• Detached: a standalone graphic, such as a full-screen sponsor takeover

Step 4: Upload or Configure the Artwork
1. Upload the sponsor image or artwork for the template.
2. Confirm the dimensions match the placement area.
3. If the template supports multiple variants (for example, light and dark versions), upload each variant.
Step 5: Save the Ad Template
1. Review your settings and artwork.
2. Click Save.
Your Ad Template is now available to be added to an Ad Set.
Adding the Ad Template to an Ad Set
Creating the template alone does not put it on air. To use it in a match:
1. Go to Ads, then Ad Sets.
2. Open an existing Ad Set or create a new one.
3. Add your Ad Template to the Ad Set.
4. Allocate the Ad Set to the relevant competition, team, or club.

Tips
• Use consistent naming across Ad Templates (for example, include sponsor name and placement) so they are easy to find in Ad Sets.
• Keep in-graphic templates sized to match the available space in your Theme Instance. Oversized artwork may be cropped.
• Create separate Ad Templates for different aspect ratios if you broadcast to multiple destinations.
• Run a test match before going live to confirm the Ad Template appears as expected.
Common Issues
The Ad Template does not appear during a match Check that the template has been added to an Ad Set and that the Ad Set is allocated to the correct competition, team, or club.
The artwork looks stretched or cropped Confirm the uploaded image matches the expected dimensions for the template type. In-graphic ads use smaller placement areas than detached full-screen ads.
I cannot see the Ad Templates section Your user role may not have access. Ad Templates are managed by Owner, Admin, or User roles at the Organisation level. If your organisation uses Rive themes, Ad Templates will not apply to you, and ads are configured through Automated Game Plan playlists instead.
