Allocating Ad Sets to Competitions

Section: Ads - Ad Sets Title: Allocating Ad Sets to Competitions

Allocating Ad Sets to Competitions connects your sponsor Ad Sets to a specific Competition so their graphics can be used during matches in that Competition.

Which Ad System Applies to You

LIGR Live supports two advertising systems that run in parallel. The one you use depends on the type of Theme assigned to your organisation:

• Ad Allocation (for organisations using inbuilt themes): Ad Sets are allocated to Competitions, Clubs, or Teams, and the system handles rotation automatically. This article covers this workflow.

• Playlist-based ads (for organisations using Rive themes): Ads are configured directly within Automated Game Plan playlists rather than being allocated to Competitions.

If you are unsure which system applies, check the Theme type assigned to your organisation's Competition overlays. The rest of this article applies to organisations using inbuilt themes with Ad Allocation.

Before You Start

Before you can allocate an Ad Set to a Competition, make sure you have:

• At least one Competition created in the Assets tab

• At least one Ad Set created in the Ads section, with all required image sizes uploaded

• The appropriate permission level (Owner, Admin, or User)

What Allocation Does

Allocation is the process of assigning an Ad Set to a Competition, Team, or Club so it becomes available for use in that context. Once an Ad Set is allocated to a Competition:

• The Ad Set can be pulled into Automated Game Plan playlists for any match in that Competition

• The sponsor assets become available for Sponsor Loops and in-graphic ads

• The Ad Set is scoped only to that Competition unless allocated elsewhere

Allocating an Ad Set to a Competition

Follow these steps to allocate an Ad Set:

1. Go to the Ads section from the main navigation.

2. Open the Ad Sets tab.

3. Select the Ad Set you want to allocate.

4. Open the allocation settings for that Ad Set.

5. Choose the Competition you want to allocate the Ad Set to.

6. Save your changes.

The Ad Set is now available to all matches within the selected Competition.

Managing Existing Allocations

You can review and update allocations at any time:

• Open the Ad Set from the Ad Sets tab

• View the list of Competitions it is currently allocated to

• Add additional Competitions or remove existing allocations as needed

Changes take effect for future matches in that Competition. Matches already in progress may need to be refreshed to pick up allocation changes.

Tips

• Allocate Ad Sets early, ideally before creating matches in that Competition, so they are available when you build your Automated Game Plan.

• A single Ad Set can be allocated to multiple Competitions if the same sponsor covers more than one league or tournament.

• Keep sponsor naming consistent across Ad Sets so they are easy to identify when building playlists.

• If a sponsor is Club-specific rather than Competition-wide, allocate the Ad Set at the Club level instead.

Common Issues

The Ad Set is not appearing in my match's playlists

Check that the Ad Set is allocated to the correct Competition. An Ad Set only appears in playlists for matches in Competitions it has been allocated to.

All required image sizes must be uploaded before allocating

If the Ad Set is missing any of the required image sizes, you may not be able to allocate it. Upload all required sizes in the Ad Set first.

Changes to allocation are not showing for a match

Reload the match to pick up the updated allocation.

I can't see the allocation option

Confirm your user role has permission to manage Ads. Gameday Operators, Live Scorers, and Media Viewers may not have access to allocation settings.

My organisation uses Rive themes and I don't see Ad Sets behaving this way

Organisations on Rive themes use playlist-based ads configured directly within Automated Game Plan playlists, rather than allocating Ad Sets to Competitions. Refer to the guidance for playlist-based ads instead.
