Assigning Venues to Matches

Written by Julian Rodrigues

Assigning a Venue to a Match in LIGR Live links a physical location to your fixture, so venue details can appear in your broadcast graphics and match records.

Before You Start

Before you can assign a Venue to a Match, make sure you have:

• Created at least one Venue under the Assets tab

• Created the Competition the Match will sit under

• Created the two Teams playing in the Match

If you haven't set up a Venue yet, you'll need to add one in the Assets section before it becomes available to select during Match creation.

Assigning a Venue When Creating a Match

You assign a Venue as part of the Match creation form.

1. Go to the Matches tab in the left sidebar.

2. Click to create a new Match.

3. Select the Competition the Match belongs to.

4. Choose the two Teams playing in the Match.

5. Locate the Venue field in the Match setup form.

6. Select a Venue from the dropdown list of Venues you've created under Assets.

7. Complete the remaining Match details and save.

The Venue is now linked to the Match and will be available to display in your graphics where the Theme supports it.

Changing the Venue on an Existing Match

If a Match is moved to a different location, you can update the Venue before the Match goes live.

1. Open the Matches tab.

2. Find the Match you want to edit.

3. Open the Match settings.

4. Change the selected Venue using the Venue dropdown.

5. Save your changes.

Tips

• Create all your regularly used Venues in the Assets tab first. This makes Match setup much faster.

• Keep Venue names clear and consistent (for example, include the city or ground name) so operators can quickly pick the correct one from the dropdown.

• If your Theme includes a Venue field in its graphics, double-check the Venue is assigned before your Match goes live.

Common Issues

The Venue I want isn't in the dropdown The Venue hasn't been created yet. Go to the Assets tab, open the Venues section, and add it before returning to the Match setup.

The Venue isn't showing in my graphics Check that your Theme or Theme Instance supports a Venue field. Not all graphics are configured to display Venue information.

I can't change the Venue on a live Match Venue changes are best made before the Match starts. If the Match is already in the Control Room, update the Venue in the Match settings and confirm the change is reflected in your overlays.
