How to Create a Venue

Venues are Assets in LIGR Live that represent the physical locations where matches are played, and they can be assigned to matches so location details flow through into your broadcast.


Before You Start

Before creating a Venue, make sure you have:


• Access to your LIGR Live Organisation with permission to manage Assets (Owner, Admin, or User level)


• The venue's name and location details ready


Venues sit alongside Competitions, Clubs, Teams, and Players inside the Assets tab. You don't need to create a Venue before creating a match, but having them set up in advance saves time during match creation.


Accessing the Venues Section

1. Log in to your LIGR Live account.


2. In the left sidebar, click the Assets tab.


3. Select Venues from the Assets sections.

Creating a New Venue

Once you're in the Venues section, follow these steps:


1. Click the Create Venue button (typically located at the top right of the Venues list).


2. Fill in the Venue details in the form that appears:


Venue Name — the name of the ground, stadium, or field


Location details — address or city information


• Any additional fields shown on the form


1. Review the information you've entered.


2. Click Save to add the Venue to your Assets.

Your new Venue will now appear in the Venues list and be available to select when creating or editing a Match.


Editing or Deleting a Venue

To update an existing Venue:


1. Go to Assets > Venues.


2. Click the Venue you want to update from the list.


3. Edit the details as needed, then click Save.


To remove a Venue, open it from the list and use the delete option. Be aware that removing a Venue may affect matches it's currently assigned to.


Assigning a Venue to a Match

Once a Venue exists in your Assets, you can assign it to a Match:


1. Go to the Matches tab.


2. Open the Match you want to update, or create a new Match.


3. In the Match setup screen, select your Venue from the Venue dropdown.


4. Save your changes.

Tips

• Create your most-used Venues in advance so they're ready to select during Match creation.


• Use clear, consistent naming (for example, the official stadium name) so operators and scorers can find Venues quickly.


• If your organisation runs matches across multiple regions, include the city or suburb in the Venue name to avoid duplicates.


Common Issues

Venue not appearing in the Match setup dropdown: Confirm the Venue was saved successfully and refresh the Matches page.


Can't create a Venue: Check your user role. Live Scorers and Media Viewers don't have permission to create Assets.


Duplicate Venues: Search the Venues list before creating a new one to avoid duplicates, especially if multiple admins manage your Organisation.
