How to Archive a Club

Written by Julian Rodrigues
Updated today

Archiving a Club in LIGR Live removes it from your active Assets list without permanently deleting it, keeping your Organisation tidy while preserving historical data tied to past matches.

When to Archive a Club

Archiving is useful when a Club is no longer active in your Organisation but you still want to retain its records. Common reasons include:

• The Club has left the Competition

• The Club has merged with another Club

• The Club is seasonal and not currently in use

• You want to clean up your Assets list without losing match history

Archiving is reversible, so you can restore a Club later if needed.

Before You Begin

Before archiving a Club, check the following:

• You have Owner or Admin permissions in the Organisation

• The Club is not assigned to any upcoming Matches

• Any Teams within the Club that are still active have been reassigned or archived as needed

How to Archive a Club

Follow these steps to archive a Club from your Organisation.

1. Log in to LIGR Live and open your Organisation dashboard.

2. In the left-hand menu, go to Assets and select Clubs.

3. Find the Club you want to archive in the list. You can use the search bar if you have many Clubs.

4. Click the Club name to open its profile, or use the actions menu next to the Club.

5. Select Archive from the available options.

6. Confirm the action when prompted.

The Club will now be moved out of your active Clubs list.

Viewing Archived Clubs

Archived Clubs are not deleted and can still be viewed.

1. Go to Assets > Clubs.

2. Use the filter or toggle to show Archived Clubs.

3. Select an archived Club to view its details or restore it.

Restoring an Archived Club

To bring a Club back into your active list:

1. Open the archived Club from the filtered list.

2. Select Restore (or Unarchive).

3. The Club will return to your active Clubs and become available for new Matches and Competitions again.

Tips

• Archive Clubs at the end of a season rather than deleting them, so you retain match history for Review Pages and Highlights.

• Check that no active Teams under the Club are still assigned to upcoming Matches before archiving.

• If you manage multiple seasons, archiving is a helpful way to separate current-season Clubs from older ones.

Common Issues

I can't find the Archive option. Make sure you have Owner or Admin permissions. Gameday Operators and Live Scorers cannot archive Assets.

The Club is still showing in a Match. Archiving a Club does not remove it from Matches it is already assigned to. Historical Matches will retain the Club's details.

I archived the wrong Club. No problem — filter your Clubs list by Archived, open the Club, and select Restore to return it to your active list.

Teams under the archived Club are still active. Archiving a Club does not automatically archive its Teams. Review and archive Teams separately if needed.
