Duplicating a Competition in LIGR Live lets you quickly create a new Competition using the settings, Theme Instance, and configuration of an existing one, saving time when setting up recurring seasons or similar tournaments.
Overview
When you duplicate a Competition, LIGR Live copies over the core setup of the original Competition so you don't have to rebuild it from scratch. This is useful when:
• Starting a new season of an existing league
• Running a similar tournament with the same look and feel
• Creating a test Competition based on a live one
• Setting up multiple Competitions that share the same Theme Instance and graphics configuration
You'll find this option in the Assets tab under Competitions.
Prerequisites
Before duplicating a Competition, make sure you have:
• An existing Competition in your Organisation
• Admin or Owner permissions (standard Users may not have access to duplicate assets)
• A clear idea of what you want to change in the new Competition after duplication
Step-by-Step Guide
Step 1: Open the Assets tab
1. From the left sidebar, click Assets.

Tips
• Rename immediately after duplicating so you don't confuse the copy with the original.
• Check the Theme Instance carefully — if you want the new Competition to look different, assign a new Theme Instance rather than editing the shared one.
• Review Team assignments — duplicated Competitions may carry over the original Team list, which you'll likely need to update for a new season.
• Re-check Ad Set Allocations so sponsor content reflects the correct Competition.
Common Issues
The Duplicate option isn't visible
Your user role may not have permission to duplicate assets. Check with your Organisation Owner or Admin to confirm your permissions.
Teams from the original Competition appear in the new one
This is expected — duplication copies the full configuration. Remove or replace Teams as needed in the new Competition's settings.
The Theme Instance looks the same as the original
Duplicated Competitions often share the same Theme Instance as the original. If you want a distinct look, create or assign a separate Theme Instance to the new Competition.
Matches from the original Competition didn't come across
Only the Competition itself is duplicated — Matches are not copied. You'll need to create new Matches under the new Competition.
