Bring up a team line-up

Put a starting line-up on air from the Control Room, choose home or away with TeamShow, and update it while it's live.

The starting line-up is often the first big graphic of match day. In the Control Room you open the line-up, choose which team it shows, check it and put it on air.

Before you start

  • A line-up graphic, such as Starting Line-ups, is in your Control Room. Many rooms keep team graphics in their own section, for example TEAMS. See Setting up team lineups.

  • The line-up has been saved in the LiveScore app, or has arrived through external data. Line-ups only appear in the graphic once they're saved. If the line-up is still empty, the graphic has no players to show.

Open the line-up's controls

  1. Click the section your team graphics live in, for example TEAMS.

  2. Click the arrow on the Starting Line-ups row. The row expands to show its controls, which are the variables your room is set up to show the operator.

Choose home or away

  1. Find the TeamShow control. It's a dropdown that picks which team the line-up shows.

  2. Open it and choose Home or Away. For example, switch it to Away to show Ridgeview (RVR) instead of Harbour City (HCF).

TeamShow starts on its default value, which is set on the graphic's Variables tab. If you usually show the home team first, set the default to Home, so the operator only changes it once. See Set up variables.

Preview and put it on air

  1. Click Preview to check the line-up before it goes out. Look for the right team, complete names and numbers, and the correct badge.

  2. Click GFX IN. The line-up goes out for the team you picked.

  3. While it's live, the row has a red outline and Starting Line-ups appears as a chip in the bar at the top of the Graphics panel.

Change it while it's live

You can change a control variable while the line-up is on air, for example switching TeamShow from Away to Home after the away team has been shown.

  1. Change the control on the expanded row.

  2. Click Update. Nothing changes on the live graphic until you do, so your viewers never see a half-made change.

If you'd rather take the graphic off between teams, click GFX OUT, change TeamShow, preview again and click GFX IN.

Take it off air

When you're done, click GFX OUT on the row, or click the cross on its chip in the top bar. The red outline and the chip disappear. See Take graphics off air.

Tips and common mistakes

  • Line-up is empty or out of date. Check the line-up has been saved in the LiveScore app for this match. Late changes need to be saved there too before the graphic picks them up.

  • Wrong team on screen. Check TeamShow before GFX IN. If it's already live, change it and click Update.

  • Change didn't show. Changing a control on a live graphic does nothing until you click Update.

  • No TeamShow control. It may be hidden from the operator. Edit the graphic, open Variables and set TeamShow to show.

  • Quick access from the team sheet. If your line-up graphic has Team context, you can also bring it up by clicking a team on the Teams tab. See Adding context for players and teams.
